  1. how's hutch been so far...line looks good, but I've missed the game
  2. the rays have lost 7 in a row....they may never win again. I kind of feel bad for the rays fans....I think we should let them back into the fold.
  3. Norris will be in big demand...but I hope we don't move him...
  4. ridiculous contracts that have us in first place! Take that sourpuss..lol
  5. holy over reaction batman. I didn't say one outing in the spring was enough to convince Friedman. I said one good outing in spring didn't hurt his value. They probably aren't basing their opinion on Sanchez simply by his walk rate like many on here. Tampa will look for the best deal and that could be in the AL East, but their preference is likely not to trade within the division. That should be plainly obvious and if they had 2 deals of similar value they would likely choose the deal outside of the division.
  6. What could the Royals really get for shields with him only having a few months left on his contract. I guess it depends on how much competition there is to get him. He should be the cheapest to go get in terms of what you have to give up. Hopefully AA can strike early, maybe in a month or so and go get him.
  7. Sanchez's best start of the spring was against the Rays regulars...so maybe that outing probably didn't hurt his value with the rays...but I doubt the Rays trade price to an al east team...
  8. Lind has scored 23 runs in 94 at bats....extrapolate that over a full season and that's 150 plus runs scored...how is his play not leading to runs...epic fail. He has had 18% of his at bats against lefties....most major leaguers are around 25%....so his stats are pretty ridiculous. Lind kills right handed pitching. He had 2 doubles today...10 in total which would put him on pace to hit more than 60 doubles for a full season worth of at bats. Lind has sacrificed some power to become a better all around more patient hitter....and people complain.
  9. Bautista twice had season with an .OPS higher than when he's sitting now. EE posted a .941 and .904 OPS in his last 2 season. His .918 OPS he is currently posting doesn't seem that lucky. Melky posted a .809 and .906 OPS when he was 26 and 27 breaking out as a player. His .855 OPS is just slightly above what I expected a healthy Melky to produce. Lindy posted a .856 OPS last year. I said coming into this year he would be better. He's currently been a lot better, but he's also missed over 3 weeks of games, which was not lucky. Francisco has been lucky for sure, but he's got legit power and I expect him to post an ops north of .800. Thole has been running hot, but also only has 50 at bats. Sure are the Jays running hot and over performing a bit. When the cool off to their norms they are still going to be a potent offense.
  10. as far as the article goes to say Francisco has only ever hit 18 homers in a year and not mention that he's young and hit those 18 homers in a career high 385 plate appearances is just bad journalism. Melky hit 3 homers last year, but no mention that he played with a tumour on his spine. Lawrie is a young player still developing that has yet to play a full season either. His power has always been there and he's got 20+ home run power. Lindy is playing a bit over his head, but not dramatically over his head and he's missed 3 weeks...where's the mention of that...lind missed a chunk of time and we're still doing well. Even with some regression this offense is still clearly a top 4 offense in the AL....
  11. As I watching Pillar diving into home, I couldn't help but think he's looking like a pretty decent young player. He's got good speed...his bat is coming around and he has a lot of athleticism. His trade value is growing and he could very well be included in a package and if we don't trade him he's providing good depth and could play into our future in the coming years.
  12. tanaka has been a stud...I think he will comfortably earn his money, which is hard to say given that he's being paid 175 mil...but I think he's that good.
  13. I thought morrow had some bad luck early this year. I thought he pitched reasonably well at times. It's too bad the guy can't stay healthy to see if he could work things out on the mound. He's still striking guys out....just needs to get his command. Hopefully he can come back and make an impact mid season.
  14. we're going streaking!!!!!!!!!!!! Janssen is pure gold!
  15. McGowan just challenged the hitters...that's what you do with a 3 run lead...Donaldson is a good hitter. On to Janssen!
