  1. Navarro has done a good job calling games for the pitchers this year...enough butterball bashing already.
  2. I thought you were already gone and prepping for the NHL draft
  3. ok...I'm done with the gose love now...when's Colby back
  4. I agree...or he would have walked the bases loaded and given up a grand slam...if Mr Hyde showed up.
  5. I find Tolleson intriguing...he's not young, but he's never been given a real shot in the bigs. He's fast, a fairly good defender and has a career .779 OPS in the minors. You'd have thought he would have got more of a shot at some point in the past.
  6. yeah..so unlike everybody on here..and I include myself in that group..lol
  7. it wasn't bad pitching...you guys are ridiculous. He gave up 2 runs. He got a crap call and the baseball gods righted the umps ******** call and McGowan got him out of it. Dickey had a rough start and he did what a quality pitcher does...he righted himself and made the best of it and only gave up 2 runs, pitched into the 6th and is in line for the win. Some of you are so horny about prospects that you are convinced D'arnaud and Synder will be all stars....well D'arnaud just got sent to the minors and Synder is hurt and hasn't thrown a pitch in the bigs. As much as Dickey hasn't been as good as we had hoped, D'arnaud certainly hasn't been as good as the mets would have hoped either. We got Dickey because we were able to sign him for 3 years plus an option for 10 mil per season.
  8. that's what I was thinking...it was just off the plate if it wasn't a strike...
  9. I'm not so sure you can review that. I'm not going on buck's word. You can challenge whether or not a ball actually hit a batter, but I'm not sure the judgement call of determining whether or not a player deliberately took one can be reviewed.
  10. Thole...the forgotten man in the Dickey trade....nice at bat
  11. We gave up D'arnaud and Synder.....we got tricky dickey and Thole. Thole's numbers in the bigs under the age of 25 were better than D'arnaud's have been. Dickey has underperformed, but if he ends the year with an era under 4 and 200 plus innings that's a number 3....we wanted him to be a 1/2...he hasn't been that, but he hasn't been a total flop. Dollars played into things too...we got him at 10 mil per season for an extended time and those are not ace type dollars.
  12. There's no way...Buehrle would start game 1 if we were to start the playoffs next week. Gibbons will do what is best for the team.
  13. dickey gave up back to back homers to start the game...first one was a fastball he left over the plate
  14. "they pay him like an ace" Dickey's AAV for his time with the Jays is 10 mil per season....how is that being paid like an ace. Nolasco is getting more than 12 mil per season. Is he an ace too?
  15. RA had 6 straight starts going 6 innings with 3 or less earned runs...then he gave up 5 over 5 and 2 runs over 5 last start. He doesn't get rocked every time out. He's definitely not an ace. He also isn't being paid like an ace. He's a solid veteran guy. He's 6 and 4 and will eat innings and win some games. I still think his ERA at the end of the season will be in the 3.8ish range, which is a solid starter.
  16. man lawrie looks like he's adjusting to 2nd pretty good...he looks more comfortable each game out
