I'd be fine with Mayberry being his platoon partner. You just can't find players who hit righties the way Lind does for 6.5 mil. If the jays bought him out, the Yankees would have him signed for way more than 6.5 million in a matter of minutes after the free agency period hit.

You don't have to invest big dollars in a guy who can hit lefties, but not righties. Lefties throw 28% of pitches in the MLB. These players don't get paid big dollars. Mayberry would do, Valencia would do....Adam Lind is an ELITE hitter against righties. Who are you going to sign to DH and for what dollars.

three straight games, 2 against boston and 1 against tampa where they just missed game winning home runs...the EE one hit off the top of the wall. The two games on the weekend against boston....just in the last 3 weeks there's been enough games to make you go...aaahhh. Early games in the season given up by the bullpen...the routine grounder to reyes that ended the streak. All teams have these games that got away that shouldn't have, but the Jays seem to have had more than their share of these games.

Lind missed 2 and a half weeks due to his back this year. He missed a couple games last year due to the back, but did not have a DL stint. Lind missed most of his games due to a foul ball off his foot. How is that not a fluke. 72% of all pitches thrown are from right handers in the MLB. Lind plays better first base than EE. Lind's wrc+ is 139. Where are you going to find that for 6.5 mil on the free agent market. Give me a break.

letting lind walk for 6.5 mil would be stupid. The others I can see, although if you're keeping dickey Thole and him are pretty much conjoined twins.

Butterball is on fire.....I don't have a problem with the 3 mil he made given what he's done this year.

Lind has a ton of balls that were 10 feet or less from going out this year. He doesn't swing max effort very often though.

yes, Giambi was being paid 20 million dollars 8 years ago when 20 million was a lot more than it is today for being a good player. When Giambi was in his prime he was a great player. He's not a hall of famer. Bautista isn't a hof either. If Walker can't get in Bats will never get in. Jose is still a great player today in the present.
