  1. it's not like every team has an all star short stop in AAA as a backup plan. Goins is more than sufficient to take over for Reyes while he's injured. We strengthened our middle infield with Travis. He looks like a rookie of the year candidate. Reyes will be back in 3 to 5 weeks. He probably hurt himself diving for a ball or sliding on a steal attempt. Losing Reyes for a month isn't going to cost the jays the season.

Can't we all just get on board with the flames now...young hard working...you all remember the pics from the red mile from 04. It's time to see a new generation of boobs on the red mile. The Calgary flames....Canada's team!
  3. The lost control and strain on his arm isn't worth being 2 to 3 feet closer to home than normal...
  4. missed the game..had to work. I was listening to mike Stanton on mlb radio and he likes Sanchez. He's not near as knowledgeable as some of the experts on here, but he likes the kid.
  5. fawk...I have eddie as one of my beat the streak pics....
  6. reyes and pompey could bunt .300 on this turf with some more practice
  7. Gaudreau and Monahan are two of the top young players in the game. Gaudreau will likely win rookie of the year. The flames are definitely blue collar hard workers, but they have more talent than you might think if you haven't really watched them.
  8. Edwin strikes out 10% of the time. Starting the runner allows you to stay out of the double play, sends bautista from 1st to 3rd on a single with no outs, scores him on a double. Bautista isn't a burner, but on a straight steal still takes the bag at least 50% of the time and even with a strike out there's a chance he's in scoring position with 2 outs. The catcher still has to make a good throw. You think that if it's a fastball eddie makes contact and if it's a breaking ball bautista steals. The scenario of eddie missing a fastball and having a strike em out throw em out was actually very low odds. It happened, but I think the decision to send the runner was definitely the right one imo.
  9. we should look up the Edwin sucks threads from april last year
