    I said the same thing about Smoak before the season last year, and somehow mysteriously he figured things out at the plate. I won't say Pillar is going to have a break out, but baseball can be a strange game. Kevin has never struggled with handling the bat. He just has zero plate discipline. It's hard to imagine that things will somehow change next year, but smoak, bautista and encarnacion were late bloomers so maybe Pillar will be too. I just realized I'm replying to posts from months ago. I hate the bump threads.

    He's going to be a free agent in three years. He's set to make about 4 mil this year. He's more than earning his salary.

    I just meant on the lower end of what is reasonable, and it would obviously effect the price. More important to Rogers would be a lengthy contract so they retain control of the TV rights. Regardless having the richest family in Canada own the Jays wouldn't be a bad thing. They own a large portion of the Jets. They paid 77 million US for a painting in 2002. A 300 million dollar contract wouldn't even phase them! Hopefully they are baseball fans..lol. Wait, the Thompson family has a large position in Bell. Rogers would never sell to them.

    I'm sure any sale of the team would involve a lengthy deal for rogers to have the TV rates at a very favorable rate. The Thompson family owns the Jets, maybe they would be interested in dipping their toes into the baseball world.

    He's 23. He's played professional baseball since he was 18. He's got big talent. Look at the Bumgarner, Strasburg even a guy like Cole let alone Kershaw. They were putting up good numbers at age 23. I bet most of the projections out there have him north of 2.

    Tanaka put up 3.1 wins in 136 innings in his first year. Darvish put up 4.6 wins in 191 innings in his first year. I think you're too pessimistic.

    Trout will get away from the Angels soon enough. Why do the Angels deserve getting Otani after signing deals like the Hamilton and Pujols ones...

    Rays and Cardinals are out. I can't see the Orioles being in, so at least he won't be in the division.

    well if we do somehow get a rose and get a second date it wouldn't hurt to show some video of crowd in the Mariners vs the Jays from last year when the Mariners hosted the Jays!

    you've been begging for a rebuild for 2 seasons now. I would guess Donaldson isn't going anywhere till the trade deadline.

    Even Ryan Goins doesn't think he deserves to be a starter. The only one that thinks he deserves to be a starter is Gruber.

    he's 10 months younger than Tulo....18 mil for the next 3 or 4 years is a bit scary for a guy who's had his knee torn up.

    I'm pretty sure it does include Japanese deals and I think 98% of the deals would come from Japan. I was listening to someone being interviewed talking about Ohtani and they said his endorsement opportunities in Japan would likely go up if he went to the MLB.
