  1. pretty sad that we missed baseball this weekend due to false positives.
  2. This seems like the perfect time to get Vlad in the gym for 3 days outside of normal baseball activities and have him doing cardio till he drops. Give him Monday off. Show him what he should be doing in the off season.
  3. It's highly unlikely. Usually when managers part way there both sides aren't seeing eye to eye and there are some hard feelings. I'm sure there were differences of opinions. However, Jon couldn't really have left on better terms all things considered. He's really one of the most likable guys in the game. Gibby was the best of old school and new school. He rarely bunted...used non traditional lead off guys. He'd get into an altercation with Josh Donaldson. No one was immune to being called out and yet 2 days later they'd be best of buddies. Guys loved playing for Gibby. If the Jays ever got rid of Montoya, Shapiro is smart enough to give Gibby a sobering thought. He did a lot of things right. Under the right circumstances, if there were no better options, there is a shot he could come back. It's highly unlikely, but you never know.
  4. Well at least Giles isn't headed for tommy john for now. If we're going to have a break in the season, it may as well be while Giles is recovering.
  5. I know...I was just joking. I wish you luck.
  6. You're right, he had a year left. Regardless, Boxy is going to get to the bottom of this in his interview. Did John Gibbons really want to stay. I say yes. We'll find out from the horses mouth soon enough!
  7. He said I'm not sure I want to go through a rebuild after he knew he wasn't going to be coming back in a moment of frustration and he regretted it. It's in the article. It's not conjecture. The author interviewed Gibbons. There were also quotes after that came out where gibbons said he would relish the chance of working with young guys. I'm not saying anyone did anything wrong. At the time, Gibby had been here a long time. His contract was up. You make a change and get a fresh voice. That doesn't mean Gibby didn't want another contract. I'm saying in hindsight, we realize Gibby was a pretty good manager. Certainly relative to what we have now.I
  8. That's not true. His contract was up and head office wanted to try a different direction. Gibby was here a long time. It's understandable you want to try something else. The grass is always greener on the other side. The cubs parted ways with Maddon. You can't begin to appreciate the job that gibby did until he's gone a while. It's easy to see the mistakes managers make, not as easy to see all the good things they do. Gibby was a solid manager. He left on good terms, because he's a great guy. I hope he gets a shot with a team again because he's a good manager. https://www.thestar.com/sports/bluejays/opinion/2020/04/30/john-gibbons-wants-back-in-the-game-and-to-shed-that-old-school-reputation.html
  9. Danny's taken 4 walks already. I know what you mean though. I think Jansen might take his fair share....not sure about anyone else. We're a free swinging club for sure.
  10. He hit 18 in the second half last year with only 228 plate appearances. The ball came off his bat at 114MPh.....he's got 40 homer potential.
  11. man....could be 5 to 4....drury deserved a hit.
  12. ahhh....augustus gloop with another grounder.
  13. It was coaches and staff. There wasn't even a player that tested positive.
  14. Oh f*** off...they faced Max Scherzer who was on his game. Your posts have been a 4 strike out game.
  15. that's quite the competitive nature you have there jimbo. We should probably just tank to get a high draft pick.
  16. there's no excuse for Yamaguchi pitching tonight. We have Ryu pitching tomorrow and an off day
  17. scherzer throws 110 pitches and we can't pitch bass 2 innings in a row....f*** charlie
  18. Now we're even for the Gaviglio inning....
  19. My wife is going to be pissed at me on Saturday. 6 hours of baseball and the raps play the Lakers in the evening....
  20. thornton to the bullpen when Anderson is ready.
