  1. Rivera sending Kirk lol. BUT f*** YAS BELLLLT
  2. What the f***ing luck, damn it. Nice smack Kirk.
  3. Clutch Vlad pls
  4. Bassitt did struggle with the pitch clock but then after 2 games, he made the pitch clock his bitch lol. It actually helps him now. The 8 pitch mix makes the hitter guess and then the time he spends just wandering around before settling in to pitch makes the hitter second-guess. All the mindgames.
  5. Elly kinda lit.
  6. Looks like I am missing another Bassitt masterpiece.
  7. If Vladdy could learn a thing or two from Varsho
  8. Man, every AL East team is laughing at him (by extension, us). Dude talked way too much and got his ego handed to him. Unbelievable fall from grace (though, he never was graceful). Hopefully Barriera comes up with a little more poise and tact.
  9. This might be a position pitcher night.
  10. Just do Jackson > Richards for 2-3 IP each, send manoah down, call up some reliever (looks like Pop is back soon?)
  11. Didn't he turn down extension talks from Atkins this year? Might've saved us some money in the long run if he does indeed turn into Ricky Romero.
  12. Did they assemble the worst umpiring crew for this set?
  13. My dude. They want a lefty to break up the righty train. Belt is sick. That's all there is to it.
  14. Vladdy has a launch angle problem again, but the other way. Both nukes today were 36 and 40 LA - going up but not out. --- As long as we figure out ways to win while he finds the sweet spot... when he does, he can carry us the rest of the way.
  15. Not really, his speed and baserunning acumen are average. I am sure he can work on the latter. He's more of a 6th/7th slotter atm unless he figured something out this year which is letting him walk that much (better discipline?) 43 games is kinda shallow to really get a good idea of him. His ISO is .115 so he really doesn't hit much for power (like Biggio's ISO is 0.173). He's basically a Biggio that can handle fastballs but less versatile defensively. --- He's a good player but his skillset is so weird that you have no idea how he fits in any team, maybe Benintendi-esque. But he def won't get a frontline 1B job.
  16. Iunno about Horwitz. His BABIP is kinda high .400 but his walk rate is also high (17%), shooting his OBP to north of .400.
  17. Bo. His work ethic and dedication to be the best won't be topped. I don't think he'll ever get complacent. His sprint speed dropping by the year is a bit concerning, and I still think he should be at 2B, but not like any huge prospects for SS are knocking at the door.
  18. I don't think many are concerned about his funk. It is his head. Dude does not hustle out of the box and makes stupid baserunning choices because of that, despite having evidence (personal) to the contrary. If you are in a funk, do the fundamentals properly and give it all you got, eke out those runs/hits. And his development hasn't really kicked off, he hasn't gotten 'better'. He's mechanically changed things to stop nuking things into the ground, sure, but that effectively is making him fly out a lot more and miss meatballs/hangers due to some wonky/lack of batspeed. The last two years, the entire league was scared to pitch him inside, doesn't matter this year. But he still refuses to emulate the better hitters of the game - that is Trout, Judge, w.e - they don't hack at everything, they don't go after RBIs because RISP, pressure isn't their style. They wait and if they get one, they do not miss it. Vlad needs to be that kind of threat, he knows that - he started off the year doing that, and now he's back to his 2022 shenanigans. Obviously, you don't give up on him and wait to see what contract he deserves rather than he commands, but dude needs to understand that he isn't running this show, he needs to run just as hard as the next guy down the line. He needs to be held accountable to his headspace of 'anything flies'. Just like Manoah, but at least Manoah is getting humbled this season, so maybe something can happen. Vlad's baseline is so good that his attitude can be absolutely grating and he'll get by. That doesn't mean he is going to be the driving force for Jays' ambitions for WS if he settles for that baseline. --- The counter being - maybe if he runs slower and not bust out every play, he'll stay healthier. Maybe, but if that is the attitude he wants to carry, then he better be f***ing blasting s*** into the stratosphere every clutch AB. He doesn't command that kind of self-preservation the way he is right now. He isn't Yordan who has 1.000 OPS with RISP. Even Judge and Ohtani absolutely bust it out of the box - if those guys, who are older and more injury prone (cause Ohtani pitches as well), then there is 0 excuse for Vlad. This isn't entirely on him though. This is on the FO/Coaching, why all this is allowed is beyond me. If they do try and Vlad isn't learning, then maybe we need different coaches. If they don't try, then we... need different coaches.
  19. I feel like its just one guy making different accounts.
  20. Vlad is a kid and I feel, maybe because of the pedigree, the FO/coaching lets him do what he wants in the offseason and during season barring the times he comes to them for help. 'Cause he is 100% guessing at pitches, bat speed doesn't exist anymore on inside pitches that he absolutely demolished in 2021 (most of the league stayed away last year, and now they can pepper him in this year without anything happening), and he keeps pressing despite a full year worth of evidence that he shouldn't do that. Or he is hurt. Either way, someone needs to go on an absolute tear with Bo to carry this team until everyone gets going or something.
  21. Wow what a bailout by ump
  22. Vlad consistently believes that the pitcher will give him something to hit during hitter's count. It has been two seasons and dude doesn't realize that the entire league understands that that is not the way to go.
  23. What does it achieve though, these closed door meetings... Do they actually say "Hey Vlad, you need to hustle to 1B bud...", or do they put up videos of their last ABs and dissect them with 'you gotta stop swinging at those lifting fastballs Daulton, some of them are at your f***ing eye level man... and Alek, the pitch clock is owning you - can't drive your slider through as you used to before when you had rest in between pitches, any ideas on how we can fix this"? If it is all fluff like 'we gotta do better', then f*** is that going to do lol
