  16. The overturn happened in Padres game last week: Very similar. Analysis on today: Shrugs. Apparently, David Beckham double clutched and because the ball was not in the air, the first shuffle into foul territory by Sanchez was considered blocking?
  17. Dodgers sweep the Soto Padres.
  18. Whoever runs the twitter account has no chill, damn
  19. Dodgers up 2 - 0 against Padres; if it holds, they will sweep the new Padres
  20. Better angle; can see that the runner had no lane to slide - knee was shutting it down before the ball even got there. f*** if I know how the catcher could receive the ball there without standing on the plate. I think its the knee.
  21. It would've been but that's where the ball was thrown, at least from SN feed. That set up is fine if that is the trajectory of the ball (and he had to stand there to catch the ball), which is what it looked like. There was still a lane present there for Whit to slide (through the legs). The knee going down and thus blocking the access of the sliding leg to the plate, afaik, can only happen if he has possession of the ball. Whatever, have to wait for Jomboy's review. That was the Os game that happened earlier. He had no lane before the ball was caught (couldn't even slide there cause that'd easily invoke the Buster Posey rule). The only way he could receive that ball was where he stood (or maybe behind the plate?), not even sure how he could've given the lane there short of not crouching on one knee.
  22. Also keep in mind - Vladdy is 5 HRs to career 100 (T-16 days to beat Bench for 7th youngest ever; T-24 days to beat Soto for 8th youngest ever), and 9 hits to career 500.
  23. Can't do that. Merrifield started his slide, the knee is going down before ball is in glove. I.e. You are blocking the lane before ball is in glove. You either stand infront of the plate (he could've considering he caught that ball in a half crouch) and swipe back or you stand over the plate but no knee bends so the lane stays open until you have the ball.
