  1. Looks like they changed their mind, this is f***ing s*** show, the season starts in 2 days.
  2. 10.4 AAV isn't asking for a whole lot of upside. If he continues at about 2 WAR per season the contact is fine.
  3. Meyer seems to have a pretty high floor. which is enticing. It seems most scouts think his 2 pitch combo is lethal enough to be in an MLB bullpen right now. Best case scenario he has the potential to turn into a top of the rotation guy if it all goes right for him; he remains durable and his changeup continues to develop and he can get a 4th solid pitch in his arsenal. If it doesn't work out he can be a strong bullpen piece. I really like that range of outcomes.
  4. It would be a month and it would only impact 2 teams. 9 teams will have been off since March, another 5 will have only played 8 games since March. I don't think the union will have too much wiggle room. Mark Cuban was on PMT a couple weeks ago and has been advocating for the NBA to start its season in December to offset the competition with football and hockey. This could line up for a permanent shift.
  5. Agreed, there's no bad pick out of that bunch, its a great crop. I would be underwhelmed if they reach a bit and take Detmers but I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. He's still solid just not as flashy.
  6. I guess, I mean he probably only needs to slip past 1 team.
  7. Ah yes, a gay joke. good one
  8. Good god, Draft Day is an awful movie. The only reason I watched it was because I was on a plane. The trade values were so unrealistic it was just constant eye rolling. Spoiler alert for those who shouldn't waste their time: The guy gets offered the first overall pick for his first (7th overall), a future first and a third, which he ponders and says no to. An hour later he wants to re-negotiate the deal and the other team says the price went up to 3 firsts, which for whatever reason he then accepts because he think he'll get fired if he doesn't. The whole idea was to trade up and draft this star generational QB, but the GM says last minute that because nobody attended the kids birthday party that he must not have friends so he doesn't draft him and instead drafts the problem child linebacker who was slated to be a reach even at 7, their original draft slot. Now they have to pay him way more. They then trade for the 6th pick for 3 2nd rounders and then trade back one spot to 7th for 2 future firsts and a punt returner.. -And if we are keeping track here, Seattle the original team with 1st overall traded back to 7th for 2 additional firsts, and then gave those firsts right back to Cleveland to move up one spot to 6th lol. They end up taking an RB with the pick because his dad played for the browns. Taking an RB in the top 10 in is just extremely dumb to begin with. The whole idea was to draft this QB to "save football in Cleveland" and instead they reached on a LB and an RB giving up 3 future 2nd's in the process, and if we know anything about the Browns they would have won 2-4 games the following three seasons. Movie sucked.
  9. While that is true, the SARS outbreak only infected 8000 people, COVID is way more contagious. Yes, a typical healthy individual will recover in 99.8% of cases, but the worry is that those people can pass it on to a more vulnerable person such as their parents/grandparents where the death rate is far higher.
  10. the death rate is significantly higher for Covid-19, about 10x higher, and it is twice as contagious Edit: I see what you're saying, just read another report. If we remove wuhan and include cases after feb 4th, then the mortality rate is down to 0.7%, but that is still roughly 7x higher than the seasonal flu.
  11. Ryu today: 4.1 IP, 3H, 0R, 4K, 0BB Groundouts-Flyouts: 5-2 Fastball sat at 90, mixing the curve in at 71-72
  12. Followed by a Gurriel double. He's hit the ball hard today
  13. Lots of good content out there today. Trevor Bauer continuing his MVP offseason:
  14. This is awesome stuff
  15. I haven't seen anything on velo or visual reports just the results. But they're awesome
  16. He actually looks decent out there
  17. This is awesome for Shoe. If he can at all resemble his start to last season he'll extremely valuable for this team.
  18. Hey Josh Bell, don't chop at it, it's not a sword.
  19. Shaw won't be in there vs lefties, and they'll be facing Sale Opening Day
  20. this guy definitely jerks off in his car
  21. It wasn't gonna be fully revamped in one season. I'll take a handful of 1.5-2 Win pitchers with decent depth options over throwing the likes of Edwin Jackson, Clayton Richard & Clay Bucholz out there
  22. New ST/BP hats, most of these are good
