Good god, Draft Day is an awful movie. The only reason I watched it was because I was on a plane. The trade values were so unrealistic it was just constant eye rolling.
Spoiler alert for those who shouldn't waste their time:
The guy gets offered the first overall pick for his first (7th overall), a future first and a third, which he ponders and says no to. An hour later he wants to re-negotiate the deal and the other team says the price went up to 3 firsts, which for whatever reason he then accepts because he think he'll get fired if he doesn't.
The whole idea was to trade up and draft this star generational QB, but the GM says last minute that because nobody attended the kids birthday party that he must not have friends so he doesn't draft him and instead drafts the problem child linebacker who was slated to be a reach even at 7, their original draft slot. Now they have to pay him way more.
They then trade for the 6th pick for 3 2nd rounders and then trade back one spot to 7th for 2 future firsts and a punt returner..
-And if we are keeping track here, Seattle the original team with 1st overall traded back to 7th for 2 additional firsts, and then gave those firsts right back to Cleveland to move up one spot to 6th lol.
They end up taking an RB with the pick because his dad played for the browns. Taking an RB in the top 10 in is just extremely dumb to begin with.
The whole idea was to draft this QB to "save football in Cleveland" and instead they reached on a LB and an RB giving up 3 future 2nd's in the process, and if we know anything about the Browns they would have won 2-4 games the following three seasons.
Movie sucked.
