    Why would a players confidence vary month to month? The variance from season to season is what separates these players from the great players who show very little variance. Of course you're not going to fault any player if he never has men on, but stats can factor that in.

    Getting hits while men are in scoring position is a valuable talent, just because math can't explain why a hitter can only get on base when the bases are empty and cannot evaluate a player dealing with high pressure situations or lack of does not mean it doesn't translate in the real non-math world.

    Calling someone ugly..really? Thought leaving the other forum meant leaving these types of comments behind. Let's stick to criticizing their play on the field, and in some cases off the field. CR has a wife and friends..I cringe everytime I think they read our comments. What possible good can come from this childish behavior?

    When a person doesn't like someone,they usually don't say positive things about them. But think about it,did you hear anyone from the 89-93 teams say anything damaging about cito? Did, molitor,alomar,winfield,henderson, borders witt, henke,ward...if not, then WHY NOT ?? Whatever cito was telling the players in those years, must have worked, and those players were OK with it. Maybe green was butthurt at not being allowed a regular spot on the WS winning team? Green did very well under cito's tutelage,and as green got older he got better,it had nothing to to with flourishing without cito. I heard carter wore cito's number after cito got fired to protest, but then carter is black, it stands to reason why he'd back cito, unlike the 2 white boys, or so i'm told.
