  1. " AA took a bottom five farm system and turned it into a top 3 farm system within three years of being on the job. ' Ranking farm systems is not exactly an exact science. It's someone's perception of what the players in that system MIGHT be . The two travis's alone jumped us way up the ladder. How did those 2 fare so far? But if this ranking give some here a strand of hope to cling to, then so be it. GO LEAFS GO !! CLAP! CLAP! CLAP!
  2. You're in your 40s or 50s, and trying to act like a pre-teen punk with those childish acronyms. Dry out you alcohol soaked sorry ass slovenly sod .
  3. That's cool gibbers, hope you have better luck in the future.
  4. "" Dave Williams, pitching coach with rookie-class Gulf Coast Jays will not be back next season "" Now and then I'd wonder what ever happened to him after he retired from hockey.
  5. WOW !! I'm thinking you should spend less on baseball tickets and invest in a reliable vehicle,or at least pay more attention to your car and do some maintenance on it. You didn't even notice the obvious condition of your tires?? I thought mall cops made minimum wage .
  6. If the jays were in a 1-0 game, it would be riveting, but not caring who wins I'd like to see either a no hitter,or the lead change hands a few times.Take the 2004 AL champ series, now that was the best ever series for me entertainment wise, since I was only 11 during the bluejays championship years it didn't quite have the same impact. No series since that has come close, with the intense rivalry, the long red sox drought, and winning 4 straight after losing the 1st 3..that was a series for the ages. Hollywood couldn't have written a better script.
  7. Two 3-0 games and three 1-0 games makes for boring entertainment to the casual fans that are not emotionally invested in those teams. These games will most certainly not bring new fans into the fold. I love baseball, but sheeeesh, what a snorefest. Let's go bluejays ! Bring back the glory days ! Well, maybe just one meaningful game in september will suffice for now.
  8. Seems like leyland wanted everyone in BP to be part of the game. The way scherzer was pitching he should of let him pitch in the 8th, F the pitch count.
  9. " His "big splash" off season didn't work out either (Scott Rolen, BJ Ryan, " Roland and ryan didn't work out ? Roland played a great 3rd base, and ryan was fantastic , until he got injured. Maybe the contract he got was unacceptable but their performance when healthy was very acceptable. Blame cannot be put on JP for player injuries.
  10. Great match ups for the ones who love watching baseball, it's a dream come true. If tampa had of spent an extra 80 million, they'd be be the odds on favorite to win it all. Money rules baseball,it's a proven recipe 90% of the time in the hands of competent baseball people in the front office. Now that's moneyball. AUH YUP.
  11. Maddon quote after today's game " It's just 2 games baby "
  12. I'll go with whoever BTS picks .
  13. " This will just make it easier for Cubans to defect. Spending seven months of the year making millions of dollars and living it up in the West isn't going to give much incentive to return home. " Their families and friends won't even enter their thought process, even though they could come and go as they please, yeah right.
  14. " The MVP isn't a team award - it's an award for the most valuable player in the league. To me, the only possible definition for the award is "player who creates the most wins for his team". That player, undoubtedly, is Mike Trout. " Like a previous poster said, it all depends on your definition for MVP. In your world, trout should be voted the MVP, this is indisputable.
  15. No, the best player is not the mvp, this is why they vote on it. " Trout helped his team reach its goal (the playoffs) more than Cabrera. " <--- I can't believe you said this. So we agree to disagree, lets leave it at that. Cheers.
  16. just follow the pied piper
  17. " Trout was responsible for his team winning more games..the actual facylt is that you're an ignorant dumbass who I'm surprised even knows how to operate a computet " With or without trout, the angels are finished for the year..how is that helping the team? If you want the MVP winner strictly based on numbers..then why even vote on it? Is there a vote to figure out who the home run leader is, or who should be the best base stealer, the best rbi guy or which pitcher has the most Ks ? GTFO !! How many times have you seen post where someone says " there's no way anyone could have foreseen yadda yadda yadda ! So in those cases..all the stats and junk math couldn't predict those players future performances. Baseball stats pale in comparison to horse racing stats, there are a kazillion number crunching comp programs, and they all have one thing in common, none of them can give you consistent winners even 20 % of the time, in spite of all the piles of data available . The reason for this ? Because horses, like humans or any living animal are not consistent due to too many variances, and these cannot be converted into numbers to be used as stats. NOW PISS OFF YOU MINDLESS DEDICATED FOLLOWER OF FASHION
  18. Stick to the facts. Fact # 1.. you have no idea how many less games the tigers would have won without cabrera. Fact#2 Angels with or without trout, misses the playoffs this year. He failed during the 2013 regular season to help his team achieve it's goal..which is making the playoffs. All the angels failed, this is baseball, which happens to be a TEAM sport, so no angel should win a mvp award. Some here have the need to boil everything down to numbers,if it can't be done..just make it up. What does MVP mean, most valuable to himself, to the league < cackles> <-- is this even possible, most valuable to the fans, who draws the most fans, <-- how do u even compute this, ask each fan which player they came out to see, make a stat.+6.87 fan attraction ! The MVP has to be the player who helps his team more than any other, succeed in reaching its goal..PERIOD.
  19. My post was mainly hypothetical,I have no idea how many games each team won against the other or by how much, and i really don't care. A MVP should be instrumental in helping the team succeed at it's goal, which should be,to reach the post season and then finally the championship. Shouldn't he be the most valuable to his team. There are enough individual awards..silver slugger, golden glove, hank aaron, cy young..and some newer ones that cropped up, one being the comeback player or something similar. Trout is destined for greatness barring career ending injury,he's the best center fielder, even the best OF in the league, and wouldn't argue on him being the best all around player, but not the mvp, that has to go to the player who made the biggest difference in his team making the playoffs. And for me, cabrera stands out, as i believe detroit would have struggled getting there without him. Trout will get more than one mvp during his career ,that's a given, wouldn't surprise me if he wins this year.
  20. Trout wasn't valuable enough to his team to lead them past the regular season..how is this valuable to the team ?? Who's to say pitchers pitched him down the middle on many occasions while being up by 7-8 runs in the hope that he'd be a one pitch out to get the game over with faster, and why not, his team is 15 games behind . And what IF, throughout the season, NOT ONE ball was hit towards him so he never had to make a play? Would that diminish his value ? Would detroit have made the playoffs without cabrera ? MVP is the most valuable player to his team, the best PLAYER could easily be trout. If trout were traded to KC, and then KC made the playoffs, with trout having less numbers, and the other candidates had the same, I'd say trout wins MVP hands down. LETS GO BLUEJAYS CLAPPITY CLAP CLAP !!!
  21. The only time in your pathetic life that you even came close to a vagina was the day you were born, you low brow australopithecus .
  22. Like I'm really From oshawa.. i wanted spanky to spend his days trying to hunt me down, although when I was 15, I did live there with my aunt for 7 months, it's not a bad town, pick there over torona any day.
