He is a cheap option at 4th outfielder but best Senario is he is in AAA. There are some who suggest using the 6.5 mil from Lind to resign Melky for DH but Pillar,s inability to take enough walks will show up big time in the majors .

Yea, you just never argue with the guy cause he has to get the last word in. I just say my piece and walk away . If Kingkat who is one of the nice guys on this board doesn't walk away this thread will never end.

I,m skeptical of this. He addressed the drug issue stating it wasn't that and that it was a family matter. The team wanted him to just take a leave of absence as they want him to come back.

Jays need one of KC or Detroit and A,s or Seattle to kick ass and start sweeping each other. Preferably Oakland and KC

Only way they get back in this is if one of the A,s or Mariners start sweeping each other every series and Ditto KC and Detroit. We desperately need one in each division to take charge -
God I wish we had a team like the Cubs or texas in our division this year. That is a bad team. Won't be like that in 3 years but it sucks right now

We can debate this around for the next two months but really it is all dependent on the budget and we will never know that. Even if it goes down AA on orders from Rogers will say he has money but will state nothing fit for them.

Hell every team wants to avoid platoons and have a bench loaded with Brock Holt types. A Lind platoon is far from the worst problem facing this team.

Moogy Who are you replacing him with. You have holes at 2nd, LF, CF, and the bull pen. Even if the budget stays the same at 137 mil we can,t fill all those holes properly and you want to create another hole? Ask the brewers or the pirates how easy it is r to replace a 1st B/DH And at 7.5 mil

At 6.5 mil you can't replace the bat and in a contract year i expect him to work on his conditioning which is something Lindy is bad at. Pair him with john Mayberry and you have a pretty good platoon . Mayberry can play the OF, DH< and 1st

Your point wasn't valid Pirates wanted Lind last year but the jays asked for Walker. Brewers wanted lind too but didn't line up. There are teams out there that would take Lind at his salary ,not sure what you get back

Lind and Thole,s options are the only ones i see getting picked up.

if you only exercise Lind,s option then fill with cheap players your right around 120.

I have run a poll in the off season every year as to what the budget would be . The payroll going into last off season was around 137mil because of existing contracts and Arb raises. We all knew what the payroll was going in. we voted what we thought it would go to. I think I expected it to go to 150 but I can't find the thread. many thought it would go as high as 170 mil.

Much as I have bitched about Navarro all year it is a moot point . Jays love the bat and I'm not convinced they care about his defense or think it is as bad as it really is. Even scarier is the thought of having Pillar Gose and Goins at the bottom of the lineup on a daily basis and Sanchez in the Bull Pen because Rogers is focused only on Hockey. I'm always the negative guy when it comes to budgets but it was even worse than I predicted last year and I think it is going down to 120 ish. That is why the kids and Valencia are playing every day now even thou we still have a 1 % shot .
