Zito pitches way better at home so who knows . Great to see JJ pitch last nite . As usual defense screws it up but it bodes well for us being able to move him for something very good.

Works for me but not this time . The 40 man is going to be a huge cluster like you said . JP needs to get on the phone and rid us of some salary at least and open up some 40 man spots or guys like Storey , Gomez will just have to be dropped

JJ pitching better than i expected Bats need to get going here , I would hate to lose this game because our s***** defense again . when Reyes comes back we are better off with kawasaki at 2nd even batting under 200 .

As Always the GDT is amazing . I love this ball park . Best one I have had the pleasure of visiting but when looking at the view of it on the GDT I was surprised to see that short right field . I stood on the walkway and had a coke before the games and never realized it was so short

If they can get Melky again I'm sure they will try . Depends if he cooperated with them when they saw his name on this list . Selig wants his legacy to state he was the one who shut down the PEDS when in fact his legasy should be that he resided over the PED era. So to change perception He is smacking everyone he can and melky will be firmly in his sites again -
I like what he has become and Juan Perez has so far filled that role since getting here very well . If Oliver was pitching like he did last year and perez had failed I would say go for it but right now until Perez blows up ( It'll happen ) might as well go with him and rogers

Possible Trade and Free Agent Scenarios

Rasmus and hopefully a rebounding JJ are the two decent trade chips we can use to retool with . Davis , Boni/Izzy ,and Oliver get little return other than opening up 40 man roster spots . I would move Rasmus and JJ soon into the trading season if we get good value . If JJ is pitching well I would not be surprised if St Louis would want him what with all their injuries . Kolton Wong or one of their starters . Rasmus is a bit different , only the rangers of the playoff bound teams seem in dire need . Lind , I'm starting to think we keep , At 5 mil( 7 mil minus the 2 mil buyout ) if he continues going as he is can't be replaced for those $$$$ . Just never have him face a lefty . As for Cano , Common guys , That is a pipe dream . We can't get a 2nd tier FA to come here even if we did pay more in years and $$$ . Why does anyone think the best who can go anywhere want to come to TO -

Hard to believe posters think AA will have enough money to even think about Cano or Lee . That would put us in the 160 mil to 170 mil range and I just don't see the fanbase supporting that thru the turnstiles and Rogers expects revenue . I think we will have to live with the rotation options we have in the system which is why the RR situation and how they handled it just pisses me off . Handled properly he may have figured it out ,but now I think it will take a change of organizations if ever so we are eating that 19 mil . AA better pray Hutch comes back strong , Dickey gets his hard knuckler back , Morrow gets healthy , Buehrle is himself Happ pitches better than he ever has and Drabek finds control cause if all that doesn't happen or at least 5/6ths of it AA will on the outside unemployed . And fix the damn defense too cause it sucks big time -
Vik , Izturis ,or Boni need to be traded not only to clear salary but Kawasaki is a better option ,makes the minimum has better range , works counts and while his bat isn't as good his OBP is . I like Boni in spite of his terrible defense better than Izturis however he nets way more in a trade

Oliver if pitching like he did last year should net a c type reliever prospect,as every team looks for relief help . Izzy isn't worth anything now because he isn't hitting and his glaring lack of range is showing up If he starts to hit and someone has an injury in the right senario we might get something if we eat a few mil.

I want JJ ,Oliver ,Davis and Izturis to get healthy and moved and Blanco DFA,d to Buffalo , He'll go as he doesn't have better options . That would free up 5 roster spots. and save a few mil . If some play well we should net a decent prospect for JJ and a C type prospects for the others ,as long as they are playing to their average.

When was the last time TDA had an injury free season? I think he has to move positions to try and stay healthy

I would say you hit the nail on the head except we don't have a starting rotation that has a large enough sample size of JPA catching them except for Buehrle and he did just as bad with Blanco catching him . We all agree JPA is below average defensively and his strikeout to walk ratio must surely be the worst in baseball thus power seems his only redeeming quality but since we are 10.5 games back I would blame our defense(of which JPA is only one of 9) and rotation more than JPA . Still Blanco's veteran leadership hasn't got Dickey pitching well and the team winning so why not call up Thole and open up a 40 man roster spot .
