    We aren't going anywhere until the rotation gets fixed Vik . All the offense in the world can't win with the rotation we have now unless we start scoring in double figures most games and hell we don't even put up crooked numbers against guys like phelps

    Gose is on the 40 man roster , simple as that . I agree that others could help more but we already have a 40 man roster nightmare. It is only going to get worse as the guys come back from the 60 day DL

    At first I thought this must be sarcasm because our defense has been the most disappointing part of our season , then i realized this was a serious proposal I thought this board would be a huge improvement and get rid of the stupidity posted on the MLB board . Then I read stuff like this and realize Stupidity is everywhere in this world and not just limited to trolls .

    Cecil has found his role . Ortiz and Jenkins after their good starts will now get at least 2 more . By then just pray that JJ is healthy and back pitching decent . Right now we have 4 soft tossers in the rotation . Thing is Dickey , Morrow and Buehrle have to step up and pitch well and the offense will have to continue to stay on fire .

    95 wins yes (unlikely ) but 88 to 90 wins in this division may be enough . If the jays get back into this you will have all 5 teams beating eachother up and I just don't see a 95 win team in the AL East.

    A lot of IF,s but certainly not unrealistic to get back to 500 sometime in june . Offense seems to have kicked it into gear and even with Jenkins and Ortiz in the rotation they can win when scoring 10 runs a game .. I think a 9 and 6 run to finish all against teams that are over 500 would set this team up for a decent chance to get back in it . As for trades , Getting Reyes , JJ and Happ back islike making 3 trades

    there is going to be some 40 man roster problems coming up with all these guys coming back off the 60 day DL . McGowan IF!!! IF !!!!he stays healthy thru his rehab comes off it in what 30 days ? I guess Santos can go on the 60 day DL

    Trading Romero now is out of the question . They screwed it up calling him up after only one start and then sending him to AAA instead of back to Florida. what they need to do now is send him back to extended ST and start over .

    Wow ? All i wanted to know was did people think we were still using Murphy,s pull the ball . not start a 5 page thread on Cito Anyway hopefully the bats are breaking out and hitting isa contagious .

    Hey we grabbed him for nothing , He is a replacement level type guy who thankfully we had when reyes went down . As I watch Izturis play short I see how limited his range and man it is ugly . Kawasaki also has worked counts and definitely earned praise for his enthusism . He is 3rd on the team in OBP and has run the bases well . While he has made the three glaring errors his range and glove is way better than any other option we have . Until Reyes comes back be thankful you don't have to watch Bonifacio or Izturis at short

    Hopefully these guys start taking the ball up the middle or opposite field like Mottola is preaching soon can you imagine the defenses we will face once this data spreads thru the league . Stacked infields on the pull side for everyone

    I,m not , Guy needs more time after coming off the DL. We are throwing him to the wolves much like we did with RR after changing his delivery. Meh , Another year of DL madness

    Why would they trade Jake Arrieta, they will need him at some point too . This time of year you will have to overpay for garbage . We gutted the minors already and will have huge 40 man roster problems when some of these guys start coming off the 60 man DL . Who are you going to DFA when Reyes , Hutch , Perez ,Drabek and McGowan come off the DL

    Totally agree and ditto Jenkins who has had only 1 start at AA since coming off the DL . YET look at the 40 man roster and you see why this happend . Now I do blame AA for the way this is constructed . Which is why I firmly believe we have to DFA Blanco and bring up Thole . That would free a 40 man spot . Also all those guys on the 60 day DL will need roster spots . This isn't going to get better . At the same time we started the year with 6 proven MLB starters .and not even 40 games into the season we have Happ, and JJ on the DL . Morrow questionable and missing starts , Romero on a severe meltdown, and Dickey with issues . We started with arguably the best rotation in the AL east and have had only one great start ( Buehrle,s today )

    Just asking the question , Matt . murph is the 2nd hitting coach . It is his pull approach that these guys are using . Is it them or is his voice ruling

    <<<>>>>. That is why AA brought in guys to address the OBP problem . Reyes , Melky and Izturis , and a new hitting coach to address this issue . baustista,s OBP has been over 400 for the last 3 years . EE has a career OBP of 342 . This team was built with a combination of decent OBP guys infront of decent OPS guys who hit in front of sluggers . That they aren't following their last few years norms isn't AA or Gibbons fault. Murphy teaches a pul approach and feels OBP is overrated . Mottola teaches a use all fields approach

    Don't know why Melky ,and Macier have adopted this approach too . Only Lind seems to be using all fields . I'm really tired of this approach when it should be obvious to these hitters that it isn't winning any games . We could be the first team ever to lead the league in home runs and be last in runs scored

    Wonder if our woes this early are from the Murphy Effect . We are 14th in Avg. 14th in OBP , 11th in runs scored , yet 2nd in Home runs . That tells the whole tale . AA brought in Melky ,Jose Reyes , and Izturis to address the OBP problem . Reyes is hurt . melky has an OBP of 301 and Izturis 246 . The whole team still seems to be swinging for the fences and that never works . This team has few that have a two strike approach thus the K rate is ugly . I know this isn't Mottola,s approach , Is Murph still being heard ?

    First of all every one here knows I wasn't in favor of the trades but once done I didn't bitch . still how can we blame AA for the Happ line drive , Romero meltdown, and the Morrow back spasm.

    Not sure what we can do with the huge 40 man roster problems we have on the pitching side . Jenkins has had one start since coming off the DL . Expect a romero type start but we have no starters on the 40 man we can go to . which is why I have said DFA Blanco and call up Thole . That opens a spot on the 40 man .

    Every time he starts against LHP is a mistake . Lind is a platoon player period and even if he hits them batter than he ever has I will still think he is a platoon player .

    He has proven he can't hit lefty pitching and that was why we had to get a RHB to platoon . Gomes got too much money but there were bats out there that would have worked . LInd is a platoon player period . I give a s*** what Zaun thinks
