He is just hot right now . I suspect that will come down as teams defense him differently now that he uses the whole ballpark . Still his 5 mil salary next year seems cheap at this offensive output -

Good post Vik , the 7mil that frees up along with JJ, Davis , and Oliver money freed up would give AA enough to try and get a free agent pitcher and catcher . Then option JPA to AAA as he isn't tradeable right now . Put Hutch and Drabek and Happ in AAA and wow depth for a change .

Would we be better off to put Dickey and Melky on the 15 day DL . It would be right around the allstar break and it could be made for them to miss only a few games . Dickey can't throw his hard knuckler and 15 days might help . Melky can barely run on his bad Hammies . this would also delay a decision on Kawasaki and the Bull Pen. What do posters think

I'm full of our s***** defense and seeing Davis in Center in a platoon would pretty much drive me over the edge . Bonifacio (even with his terrible defense ) replaces Davis as the 4th OF. Saki replaces Boni in the infield .Sometimes you have to take defense over a bat and some of our rotation woes early in the season came from the disgrace our s***** defense put on our starters . Pitchers sometimes take on bad traits when they aren't sure anyone can catch the ball behind them

As Hurl keeps pointing out the 40 man roster is a disaster. Trades had better happen . Bullpen pieces that don't have options remaining should be moved if value can be had . I would love to pry Wong out of the cards for a package and AA has dealt with them before .JJ healthy and throwing well would definitely interest them . Not getting much out of Davis but Cincy may be interested . Boni still has some value

You right on the 40 man roster problems . I have echoed your posts on this many times with all the guys coming back off the 60 day DL . I posted both ways on Rasmus , In May I posted that exact thing and now I'm waffling . JJ needs to get pitching better and then moved before he gets hurt again . ditto Oliver . I wpould also move one of Boni or Izturis . Davis , Gone , and if value can be gotten I would move more BP pieces but all to improve the team for both the future and next year

East , why would you think juiced would delete a thread that only you, Nick, and Boxy are worked up on . Now maybe I should have had the title being Who was right on Lind and Cecil and JPA I suspect Nick is pissed because he was mostly right and hated the direction of the team at the time and who can argue with that. Boxy has always hated the booster and me so will dish me every chance he gets And I admit i took this too far when i stated I knew you wouldn't admit you were wrong but did post how much I was wrong.

I not alone in thinking this team with a couple of starters (Healthy ) is competative . The time to decide is probably next year at the trade deadline . Too many injuries and the fact they just didn't gel fast enough but appear to be getting there now . Sure moves should be made if they improve the team for next year and beyond . I would love to see JJ pitch great ditto Oliver and move them at the deadline in a package for Wong or something like that.

Not an unreasonable assumption when you dig a hole as deep as this team did . Now you just look for improvements and take oit a game at a time

I had actually stated he would have a 240 to 250 average and with experienced pitchers improve his defense . While there is lots of season left to improve right now he looks worse than many of his detractors say he would be . guy has NO CLUE of the strike zone . I think any time he gets a strike thrown to him is when the pitcher makes a mistake .

Ah just one of my few times when I rage over some of the premadonas on the board who will never admit to being wrong . I freely admit i was wrong . JPA sucks and I really thought with Mottola and experience he would be better .

I don't drink alcohol . the only ones upset are people who won't ever admit they were wrong . i free admit when i,m wrong but guys like East will never do it . I think it is very funny

I,m pretty much taking it a game at a time , No unrealistic hopes Just looking for the team to improve . Especially the defense . Rotation is still in taters with Dickey pitching hurt , Morrow a disaster and hurt . JJ gone missing and relying on the likes of Wang and Rogers . Still As Grant pointed out Reyes and others coming back that could put this team in overdrive . Reyes -2weeks , Morrow - 2 weeks , Lawrie -1 month ?? Perez - 1 month Happ -6 weeks ?? Drabek - 6 to 8 weeks Santos 6-8 weeks and Hutch - 8 weeks

The rangers refused to include Profar in a deal for Upton so why would they do a Bautista deal ?? Ace If JJ and Oliver both pitch well till the deadline do you think the cards would move Wong for that package ?? I sugested that in an earlier thread tonite .
