    well you did. to get an 80 grade a player must be better than 99.5% of players. a 70 is better than 95%. Say there are about 1000 professional outfielders through out the majors and minors, an 80 defender would be in the top 5 and a 70 defender would be in the top 50. So the question is: is Pillar more of a top 5ish type of defender or more of a top 50ish? I think we all know the answer to that. Maybe his real defensive grade is something like 78

    it was like the opposite of the dickey trade. A bunch of speculation of what would be fair, then the real deal comes out and it's way better for us than any of us thought it would be.

    this would probably work better closer to the end of the season where the outcome of these other games has a much higher direct impact on the jays. It's hard to get too excited about these other games yet, we all know boston and baltimore are going to win more than they lose over the next 6 weeks

    We carry the worst backup catcher in the league just to catch the knuckle ball so Martin doesnt have to. We need wins right now and Martin has said he doesnt like catching the knuckler, he was demonstrably bad at it last time, and he believes it affects his hitting which is reason enough to just leave this alone. Worry about the post season if and when we get there

    Absolutely horrible idea. Players can stand where ever the hell they want and that is fantastic. Want 9 infielders and no one in the outfield? fine.

    Reducing the number of pitching changes by forcing relievers to stay in longer would also cut commercial time.

    Instead of removing some of the pitching changes, why not remove the slow waddle out to the mound that every manager does before a pitching change. They don't have to waddle out to the outfield to change the RF why do they have to waddle out to change the pitcher... Just have the pitcher run in from the pen. And then don't break for 2 minutes for commercials every time there is a pitching change that is ridiculous. This would save at least 15 minutes on average per game I think without changing the game completely.

    but how does that work if the kid leaves Japan several years before the end of high school? What if he left Japan when he was 5 years old instead of 16, then could he come to MLB immediately? how many years must you play in Japan before you are subject to the rules of the agreement?

    Price is leading the AL in xFIP, 4th in FIP, and even his ERA is top 30 despite the high babip and hr/9. I don't get how some people say Price isn't worth it, hes among the top pitchers in the game during a 'down' year
