Yes! This is great news to come home to. This is quite a bit more than I expected him to get but glad we were targeting him. One more BP add and then Bo or Tucker and this is an A offseason.

I kinda like the deal for Baltimore. I know we laugh at the vetrin presents thing but it is probably good to add a leader to that young group and take some pressure off. They will add to the rotation. I would go after King if I were them. They have Helsley closing and probably can add another tier 2 reliever. This division is going to be a battle next year once the dust settles.

If the Red Sox get Bo and Schwarber or Alonso, it gets scary.

I thought they had to put the value of the deferral in a bond. So say they have 20 million deferred to one player. They buy a bond for 20 million and keep whatever the extra money earned by the bond is making it benefit the team a little bit. Shi mentioned something like this in an interview today but I really don't know how all of it works.

It`s just so cool that we are here. It was so frustrating for years with all the well we have only 18 million to spend this offseason to fit into our mid payroll parameters (remember passing the hat lol). They were sitting on a goldmine and I was longing for them to at least get up to the first luxury tax threshold but they would not. It`s very satisfying that we finally put on our big boy pants. Don`t stop now.

I`m sure they would love to but they would have to eat a good deal of money. I think he has an 8 team no-trade clause too which whittles it down.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up about them going crazy but I'm not ruling it out. I saw an interview with Keegan on MLB network where he kind of said they already play with the big boys in terms of payroll and they now want to play with the big big boys.
