  1. Jarren Duran is available.
  2. That’s a good question. You take one of those guys and pair him with an average starter and you have yourself a #1 pitcher. RPs just seem so volatile though, it’s tough to buy into them in dynasties
  3. So ruin the guys career that he's spent probably his whole life on and tear him away from his family. All because he busted up some guys lip that was trying to shove him in back of a car.
  4. https://www.foxsports.com/stories/mlb/buck-showalters-awful-decision-to-not-pitch-zach-britton-ended-the-orioles-season Would anyone actually be surprised to see Montoyo pull this same stunt?
  5. The highway patrol officer shouldn't have been trying to put him in back of the car anyway. Isn't highway patrol where they stick cops that aren't good enough to be actual police officers? Probably had zero training for a situation like this.
  6. You either didn't read the article or you're J. Lough.
  7. I would move closer Ian Kennedy though if anyway wants to send offers. He spends most of his time on my bench.
  8. I've probably sent out worse offers. I was seeing how bad you guys wanted closers.
  9. Bring on John Schneider. He's been groomed enough. Already won championships managing the Vancouver Canadians (2011), Dunedin Blue Jays (2017) and NH Fishercats (2018).
  10. Especially since his partner and kid are both US citizens and live in the states. Since he's a pro athlete I can see this eventually working out in the end. But what about all the other times a situation like this might have occurred and that was it.
  11. Sounds like a real s***** situation for Kristian Robinson hopefully everything works out for him.
  12. JT Brubaker and Miguel Sanó are both available. Sano is heating up for the year, He's the #7 ranked 1B over the past month.
  13. You'd think players would be alright with this. All teams under 100M would have to spend an extra 294M collectively to get up to the floor. Teams over the 180M ceiling are spending 147M over collectively. So even if all the teams over decide to cut down to the 180M there's still an net of 147M going to the players. So there's twice as much money under the 100M than there is over the 180M mark.
  14. Not sure about "plenty". I guess maybe Teoscar? Potentially Vlad and Bo, both will still have 2 more years of control.
  15. Ramirez is extremely cheap for the next 2 years. And who's to say they won't be able to fit him in the budget? Only person signed past 2023(year Ramirez's contract runs out) is Springer, and his deal was front loaded.
  16. But there is still an adjustment period. For some players it would be tougher than others. Quote from Semien below. Sure doesn't sound like it was an instantiate switch. "The angle off the bat, from a righty, there's a lot more balls that slice away from you," Semien explained Monday from the club's Spring Training complex in Dunedin, Fla. "The double-play turn and double-play feed are the biggest thing for me that I will work on every day. It felt pretty natural today. I've been working on that in the offseason and now we're able to get on the field every day and do it."
  17. He probably would, but there'd still be a learning curve. SS and 3B is more comparable than 2B is to either. I don't think it'd be good to call up a prospect for the first time and subject him to a new position at the same time he's trying to hit MLB pitching. This sounds like a recipe for disaster, we've seen many top ranked players struggle this year to hit after their call-up. If he's going to learn 2B I'd rather it be down in the minors where he's already flourishing or next year in spring training.
  18. Because Valera plays 2B and Smith doesn't? Hopefully we see any Valera starts replaced with Lopez anyway.
  19. They probably also wanted someone who could play 2B since that's where Valera has played half the time since getting called up.
  20. If he even somewhat understands how the 40-man roster works he shouldn't be wondering.
  21. I feel Kirk is the type of catcher you want to give regular rest to. And it's not like McGuire has been bad lately. Since Kirk returned to the team McGuire has put up a better OPS than Kirk. Kirk has a .753(.360 babip) and McGuire has a .773(.303 babip). McGuire is also superior to Kirk with defense. If you look at the past 2 months Reese has been a top 10 catcher.
  22. For some reason I thought Overton was already on the 40-man. Either way it's not too much of a loss. I'd rather them check out Overton to see what they got. Murphy had the highest FIP/xFIP on the 40-man, this is just the team fishing for an upgrade.
  23. I don't think Murphy has to go through waivers. Overton has less strikeout potential, but he also walks a lot less batters. Murphy wasn't getting it done up here, may as well give Overton a go. There's no risk, only the possibility of a benefit. Might also be a chance they'll try stretching out Murphy to start?
  24. I hope so. It’s what I needed after you teased me with Sale and then sold him to my direct competition.
