  1. His rant about Adam Dunn was hilarious as well. “Do you know the guy (Adam Dunn) doesn't even like baseball all that much?” haha
  2. BJMB favourite Dirk Hayhurst also wore #58. Some members had a lovefest with him haha.
  3. It would have been a Festivus Miracle!
  4. You get away with a lot on this board in comparison to other members is what I was saying. That's the truth.
  5. Can Clement steal 40 bases? Just asking.
  6. One thing I loved about JPR, was that he sat in every Wednesday with Wilner to take questions from fans and have a discussion. He wasn't afraid to do so. Didn't have to, but he did. Atkins seems like a beta and would never even have the courage to do that!
  7. Atkins waiting for Boxing Day deals.
  8. I'm meeting up with Brownie for beers after Christmas! He's buying!
  9. Braves just need to get everyone back healthy and they should be alright. They have needs but not glaring needs. Shortstop really the only position that needs a significant upgrade. Are there any decent free agent SS's available? Maybe Kim is the only one I suppose. They weren't ever going to sign Adames. They probably are going to roll with an outfield of Harris in CF, Acuna in RF once he gets back and likely Kelenic/De La Cruz platoon in LF. Acuna might miss time at the beginning of the season, so that's a concern. Not sure they hand out a $100M contract to Teo or Santander for LF. Rotation is fine, especially once Strider comes back. They could use another mid-rotation starter or back-end starter. Don't see them spending $75M over 3 years on an arm like Pivetta. They likely could bring back Morton on a one-year deal or maybe they sign a vet like Scherzer or Verlander. Bullpen could use another high leverage arm, but they have a solid group still with Iglesias, Jimenez, Johnson, Bummer and Lee. Yeah they need to upgrade their bench but I'm sure they'll fill in those pieces closer to ST. Otherwise, not much really needs to be done. They're already a team that can contend for the NL East with the core they have. Just need to add some missing pieces.
  10. Spanky likes investing in White Sox bats. Pretty much all his fantasy teams have Eloy and Roberts Jr haha.
  11. Unbelievable how far he's fallen off. This guy was supposed to be the next Stanton offensively.
  12. Vladdy definitely going to bet on himself for next offseason. If he goes out and posts a 7 to 8 WAR season, he will cash in similar to Ohtani/Soto territory though for 10 years. Don't see a team giving him 15 years like the Mets did with Soto. Jays have to make a decision with Vlad. Either trade him before the season starts and get pieces with control that could help you over the next couple of years, or hang onto him heading into 2025 in hopes of contending, though that requires spending money this offseason to improve the team around him. They can't keep the status quo.
  13. Max argues in good faith and is actually rational & respectful. Have no issue with him. Brownie comes across as an arrogant, disrespectful, and know-it-all. But I've been warming up to him. Would love to see you make a post suggesting to the mods about some other posters on here who pretty much are always in troll territory and throwing insults around frequently. Spanky for one, gets away with a lot. But he's one of your pals who always agrees with you, so you won't bring his name ever up. To suggest I'm a troll on this board is quite low of you. I have posted on this board for many years, since the original BJMB on the Jays site and have been a respectful member and have hardly ever been banned during my years here. Kind of disappointed in you Term for suggesting that.
  14. Haha yeah I'm rebuilding so my team sucks right now. Still probably have a better chance at making the Playoffs than you do being in the NL West haha.
  15. If your LOD team was relying on the bat Juan Yepez playing everyday, man there isn't much hope for your team!
  16. It's Festivus. He's airing his grievances on the BJMB! Perfect day to do it!
  17. There is no direction with this team unfortunately. They're stuck in limbo right now. Power has been an issue with this lineup for the last two seasons - instead Atkins double downs on defensive minded players again like Gimenez (who I like and don't mind that trade). But you have to compliment that kind of trade by adding power to other spots in the lineup if they expect to contend. The bullpen is in worse shape than it was last year. They brought back Garcia but need to replace Romano and bring in a reliable high leverage arm, which they haven't yet. Gotta also bring in another solid LHP who can be used in high leverage. Little/Walker aren't those guys. Hope guys like Swanson bounces back and Green can maybe return to being elite.
  18. The casuals will be happy with the Corona Rooftop Patio and the Outfield District, sipping on $18 beers and vodka coolers!
  19. The Jays aren't signing any of those guys, let's be realistic. If they were, would have already happened. The Jays are going to be lame ducks in January when everyone is off the board and they'll have to settle for guys like Cal Quantrill and Jose Iglesias. This team ain't adding two 30 HR bats to the roster lol.
  20. I just did meat, before you!
  21. Reported that the Rangers have signed Joc Pederson to a two-year deal worth $37M. Shocked he got that much AAV and for two-years. If the Jays wanted to sign him, likely would have had to go 2/$40M which would have been a pass from me.
  22. Haha the best post of the year!
  23. Brownie and Max enter the conversation now.
  24. I find it more sad and tragic that this management couldn't take advantage of the window they had with this core. They were spoon fed pretty much with talent and a core, and failed to capitalize and to take the next step. Instead, they've been sitting on their hands the past two offseasons as lame ducks and keeping this team stuck in limbo.
  25. The going rate for a mid-rotation starter these days geez. Jays likely aren't signing any of these guys so don't get your hopes up! Maybe Charlie Morton on a one-year deal.
