Yeah Ellsbury should have won in 2011 over Verlander. I didn't agree with that at all. And with the NL this year, there is really no clear cut winner, so I'm sure Kershaw will get heavy consideration. If Kershaw logged 250-260 + innings, I wouldn't have a problem, though he might not even reach 200 innings this season. I just can't justify a starter winning an MVP award when they don't log close to 250-260 innings in a season, since I place huge value on that in this day of age.

Don't forget 2002, 2008 and 2010 - those were still decent seasons. He was almost worth 4 WAR in 2010 lol.

Stanton and McCutchen play everyday. Stanton played a huge role in keeping the Marlins in it until September despite them losing Jose Fernandez for the entire 2014 season; McCutchen would play a huge part in pushing the Pirates to the playoffs as well and plays CF; Lucroy has been one of the most valuable players this season and he plays one of the most demanding positions in baseball. Kershaw might not even make it to 200 innings this season. I know he's been having a historic season, though there is an award already for him to win.

Yeah deGrom has been really solid this year. Hamilton has been extremely valuable. I'm sure if his overall numbers were better, the writers would definitely give him the nod, though an average in the .250s and an .OBP below .300 likely won't sit well with the writers.
