  1. Yup. Big win by Japan in the opening game. Croatia and Morocco tied 0-0 which is good for Canada. Lets hope Belgium can be another team that is upset, but doubt it. If Canada loses, hope they keep it close and its only 1-0 or 2-1 at least. A tie would be huge!
  2. Hunter Renfroe looks a bit like Mike Trout haha.
  3. There is always a top team that gets knocked out in the group stages at these tournaments.
  4. Interesting read from MLB.com: https://www.mlb.com/news/ranking-shohei-ohtani-trade-fits Ohtani's top trade destinations if Angels eye a deal 2) Blue Jays Toronto doesn’t really have to do much of anything at all, if it doesn’t want to; nearly the entire core that made it to the Wild Card round still remains. You could add some relievers and call it a day, if you really wanted to. But there’s an argument to be made that the core could use some shaking up, too -- that the young relatives of famous ballplayers could use some new voices around them. Baseball-wise, it’s a fit, as it would be for nearly any team. The DH spot is flexible, especially if they trade one of their surplus of catchers in an Ohtani deal, and the need for a lefty bat has been an obvious one for some time. The rotation does have Alek Manoah and Kevin Gausman atop it, but Ross Stripling is a free agent, Hyun-jin Ryu is injured, and José Berríos and Yusei Kikuchi were -- charitably -- inconsistent in 2022. In a tough division, sometimes loud moves need to be made. None would be louder than this.
  5. Kiermaier is pretty dreamy haha
  6. Definitely will be a lot of suitors for Bellinger. Like JPM said, he could sign with a rebuilding team, build up his value, and force them to trade him at the deadline removing the QO.
  7. I just think a player like him won't age well and he'll likely have to move off CF. Reminds me a bit like Dexter Fowler. I think over the next two-three years Nimmo should be fine, but after that I'm not so sure.
  8. Yeah as much as I like Nimmo, when I start hearing 5-6 years and close to $100M or more, doesn't sit comfortable with me.
  9. You hope Vladdy rebounds in 2023, and Lourdes could provide some more pop. Along with what Bellinger could provide offensively. Signing another bat would be nice to play a corner and DH, like Michael Brantley. Ideally, if they could trade for a young outfielder under control, that would be best.
  10. Should have bet USA and Wales as a tie, damn. They screwed my parlay.
  11. Where would you bat Bellinger in the lineup? Just curious.
  12. If Bellinger posts a 4-5 WAR season in 2023, he'll get a huge payday. Best route for a long term CF is through trade.
  13. And Money talks.
  14. Agree 100%. From Bellinger's perspective, Blue Jays are probably the best match. Team is going to be competitive. They just traded Teo so are in need of an OF replacement, someone who can play CF. He knows playing time here won't be an issue. As well, look at Marcus Semien as a recent example. Signed a 1 year contract in Toronto and rebuilt his value to land a huge contract. Belly is thinking the same thing. Playing 81 games at the Rogers Centre is going to help. Toronto I think is a perfect fit.
  15. I don't think so. Maybe more than $300M for sure, but would rather see him prove 2021 was no fluke. Would rather spend $350M on Vladdy after another 6 WAR season in 2023 rather than gamble on giving him $300M after his 2022 season.
  16. I'm okay with either one of Bellinger or Conforto at 1 year around $15 million. Conforto would be a safer bet from an offensive standpoint, though Belly would offer more upside if he comes close to his MVP season. If they could sign both, even better haha.

Yeah the CFL fan base is mostly an older fan base from the 70s/80s along with their kids or family members or friends of players who play in the CFL. The league does need to do a better job at targeting a younger audience. Out west in Winnipeg, Saskatchewan and Calgary, they don't really have a problem. CFL fan base out there is huge. Even Hamilton isn't that bad. The CFL lacks in the bigger cosmopolitan cities like Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. The CFL needs to adopt a similar rule as the MLS does. Where you can roster 2 or 3 players, pay them any type of contract which doesn't count towards the salary cap. Better way at keeping some of the younger stars or even bringing in some retired NFL stars or player who are near the end of their career.
  18. Yeah agreed. He would have to come close to his 2021 form and even perform better. I was thinking it with being a contract year, he could have a big season. But realistically, 2-3 WAR is most likely where he sits.
  19. Yeah Judge is over 30. If he was 27 or 28, then maybe, but even still. I don't think there is a rush to lock up Vladdy or Bo just yet. Want to see Vladdy come close to his 2021 performance and then I feel comfortable giving him $300M over 8 or 10 years.
  20. If Teo posts a 4-5 WAR season in 2023, then short term will benefit the Mariners. Jays have to hope Swanson posts a 1.5 WAR season and is a fixture in the bullpen. As well, Jays got to use that extra money wisely on another OF. If they do, then Jays IMO won't regret trading Teo. Jays pretty much improve the bullpen without losing too much in the outfield (even if they sign a lesser OF than Teo).

Those last 5 minutes were crazy. Can't believe they pulled it off. CFL is a fun league to watch. Doesn't get the love it deserves.
  22. Italy is going to win it all this year!

LMAO. I didn't pay that but some sucker did haha. Watched the game along with the Raps game from the comfort of my own home. Good to see the Leafs play well tonight!
