  1. Yankees sometimes get lucky with either a vet bouncing back in a big way or a young player/arm outperforming (e.g. Urshela, Cortes etc.).
  2. Swanson is the top position player left on the market and Nathan Eovaldi the top arm left. Taylor Rogers the top BP arm left. The rest of free agency are likely smaller deals, excluding a couple of guys who can likely get 2-3 year deals. Benintendi likely gets a 4-5 year deal wherever he signs. Wonder what blockbuster trades, if any, we see after Christmas and New Years.
  3. Could be as well. Rodon has never surpassed 200 innings before, Severino coming back from a major injury, Cortes maybe only gives them 5-6 innings every time out. Plus the bullpen has some holes as well.
  4. Yeah Yankees lineup is littered with old and injury prone players. Judge won't have the season he had in 2022. Stanton is becoming a guy who can barely hit .200 now. Donaldson I think is toast. Rizzo's best days are behind him as well. Torres might put up better numbers, otherwise their lineup is nothing special and could turn into a dumpster fire.
  5. Most of the top FAs are all off the market now. Crazy how this last week has been. I think we'll start seeing some more blockbuster trades pop up after Christmas/New Years.
  6. Were the Rangers in on Rodon? Their rotation now is deGrom, Heaney, Gray, Perez and Odorizzi with guys like Dunning and Otto Jr as their depth starters. Not bad, but nothing spectacular. Nathan Eovaldi is probably the top SP left on the market. Rangers could add another big bat like a JD Martinez or a 3B like Justin Turner.
  7. Yeah they likely bring back Benintendi or sign Conforto or Brantley for LF. They also likely get lucky with one of their young players or another player they sign.
  8. One or two will have to be moved as well. Can't keep everyone.
  9. Yeah Yankees lineup is meh, not a big fan. I expect Judge to regress obviously but he'll still be very solid. Not sure what to make of Stanton anymore. Outside of Torres, rest of the lineup is pretty old. Sure someone surprises like Oswaldo Cabrera and puts up a career year. Its the Yankees haha.
  10. Yeah Yankees definitely improved by adding Rodon to the rotation. I think Cortes takes a step back in 2023, but Cole, Rodon, Severino at the top if they're all healthy will be dominant. AL East will be a bloodbath.
  11. Yeah Jays will have to move either one catcher or one of Merrifield/Biggio or Espinal.
  12. After Swanson, there isn't anyone decent left on the SS market. Swanson likely gets $25M + per season over 9-10 years in this market. When you think about it, once Swanson signs somewhere, Bo's trade market will be through the roof. Already is probably.
  13. Not sure Merrifield can be dumped unless its for a player/pitcher making similar type money. Think the Astros could be a fit for Biggio? Who can the Jays target if they pulled a deal with them?
  14. Yeah against tough lefties, I could see that happening with KK coming off the bench in the late innings. He'll get 125-130 starts for the season if he stays healthy.
  15. Yeah Teo after 2023 likely gets 20M + per season if he puts together a 3 WAR season with the Mariners. Swanson is at least under control for 3 seasons which is the plus.
  16. Nice signing by the Guardians. If Zunino is healthy, he can definitely hit out 30 HR's and provide good defense behind the plate.
  17. Yeah for defensive purposes for sure.
  18. Could probably say JA Happ was the best FA starter signed that offseason.
  19. Yeah sorry should have specified haha. Yeah a minor league deal obviously. Probably has to be a dumpster bin 4th OF since most know they won't be playing everyday or platooning. Out of the guys who could be had on MiLB deals, Brinson or Pillar wouldn't be bad.
  20. Some RHB 4th OF options that could be signed cheap likely: - Lewis Brinson: wouldn't be a bad upside guy who was considered a top prospect coming up. Just 28 still. - Kevin Pillar: if this was 2015, just imagine haha. Having him as a backup wouldn't be bad.
  21. Yeah I think the Conforto dream is gone as well. No way this team spends $15M + on him right now. If they add another outfielder, it's via trade or they just sign another 4th outfielder who can play CF.

I know I harp on the Leafs a lot and bust Spanky's chops all the time, but happy to see the Leafs doing well this season.
  23. Yeah better use that money on other areas that need to be upgraded and role with Kikuchi as your No. 5 since he's being paid.
  24. Yeah and lets hope the Jays can win a World Series with Vlad and Bo under control before they become FAs.
  25. Yeah hoping the Bassit signing ends up like Happ from 2016-2018. Definitely will take that in a heartbeat!
