  1. Most corporate shills are a little more nuanced.
  2. Oh, this better not be really happening. Probably just me, but I'm reluctant to pay $13.5 million for one year of an aging outfielder, who has averaged -0.4 WAR over the last two years.
  3. That was the problem all along. Back to Cy Young form.
  4. OK, so I was hoping to get a full 20, but we're gonna move forward. So, for draft dates, it's pretty open. I'd like to do it on a Thursday or Friday night, starting at 6 PM and likely going to mdnight. So, for dates: March 10 - 1 March 11 March 17 - 1 March 18 March 24 - 1 March 25 Those are the possible dates. We're going to go with the majority as we likely won't be able to find a date that works perfectly for everyone. Once we find a date, try and find a way to be there to draft live. Otherwise, you can set your draft picks up in advance, or delegate someone to draft for you. Also, we still have some room so if there are other posters that want in, shoot a message to me.
  5. Yeah. I've seen reports saying he's the best defender in the minor leagues. Too bad defense doesn't win at fantasy baseball, but at least he'll maintain his eligibility. Hader 24th on this list. That's the highest I've seen him anywhere. JFaS must be pleased.
  6. 1) Giants - UNDER 2) Rangers - UNDER 3) Braves - OVER 4) Rockies - OVER 5) Tigers - UNDER 6) Royals - UNDER 7) Angels - UNDER 8) Cubs - OVER 9) Rays - OVER 10) A's - UNDER 11) Astros - OVER 12) Phillies - UNDER
  7. Berrios has really been dropping in the most recent rankings.
  8. My favorite list yet. ZIPS seems to favor shortstops a lot.
  9. Kind of a low blow. 1) It's a natural separation, as evidenced by the way we did our draft. 2) It's extra work to go through and find all the rookie eligible players. 3) That's how I did all the farm rankings last year too. 4) I included players like Seager etc when doing the major league rankings, so don't want to double count. 5) This has nothing to do with being 1st, but even if all those players were included, I'd still be first. It's not really a secret, that I prioritized the farm.
  10. You're welcome to go through each of the rosters and look up who is rookie eligible, and set up your own farm rankings. Plus, I didn't want to double count, and give Seager credit for being on an MLB ream and a farm. For the LOD one, I'm going to have to go by rookie eligible status, as the flags are all messed up, so it's hard to easily get a list of the players on the farm.
  11. Basically, players are given a score of 1-100 based on their placement in the various lists, with higher weightings going to the more established ranking systems. If a player doesn't appear on any lists, they get 0 points. It doesn't factor in rookie-eligible players that are on the MLB roster (ie Seager).
  12. Nah, you have some great prospects. Benintendi is just starting to get some love. If he does what he did last year, he'll be top ten by the end of the year. And Vlad Jr. isn't popping up on too many charts yet, because he's young and unknown to a degree. Basically, the more you stick to the standard ratings, the more points you get.

  14. I think it's more likely that one of the other species (probably lizards or apes), evolve and take revenge on the human species. Everybody send me $20, and I'll hold on to the money, and award it to the winner once we establish the cause of the end of man.
  15. You're on. I'm still trying to decide between a cryogenic chamber or putting my brain in a jar.
  16. Ahh, he knows it's all for fun. I like the guy, but he deserves a hard time for LOD, and he knows it.
  17. I posted the wrong list last night. Those were the pitcher rankings. As for the six-year-value, I basically just take the expected 2016 value, and add modifiers based on age. Basically, I expect players over 28 to decline, and players under 28 to improve. The model doesn't do a good job with young players who have a low base score though. So, a 22 year old who shows significant promise but isn't projected to help a ton this year, won't score that well. I might do another one based on just 2016 values. Don't pay too much attention to rankings though. I've seen plenty of teams expected to do poorly, do quite well, and I've seen teams ranked 1st, with multiple elite players, finish at the bottom of the league and drop out, but still have time for other dynasty leagues.
  18. Here is my ranking of the top teams by asset value over a six year period. So, it factors in youth, as opposed to other models that only look at 2016 projections. 1 Spittin 2 BTS 3 Burlington Bandit 4 AdamGreenwood 5 Chappy 6 SpeedyMin 7 Abomination 8 Dinger 9 JaysFever 10 KingFiller 11 Boxy 12 Havok 13 L54 14 J4L19 15 JG34Ace 16 GD 17 Cyborg 18 Connorp 19 Frenchsoup 20 TCA
  19. 1) Chappy is an awesome drafter. 2) BTS is an awesome drafter. Am I right?
  20. Cool, thanks. Interested in a side bet to see who is more accurate in predicting final regular season positions this year? I'm trying to leech off of your predictive credibility to jumpstart my own.
  21. Do you happen to have a spreadsheet with all the participants and the full names of the players they picked. If you could share that with me, that would be awesome. Also, two questions about your methodology. 1) Do you incorporate bench players into this? Or only the top players at each position? Or if a team has four third basemen, is their value aggregated, just as if they played four different positions. 2) Does this take age into account? (Is a 23 year old worth more than a 39 year old with the same projections) Or is based solely on 2016 projections?
  22. I don't understand why the older one had to defect. I thought Cuba had a path for the older players to make the transition to MLB.
  23. The subtlety is strong in this one.
