    News on Barriera... Barriera (elbow) is targeting a return to game action by late May or early June, Sam Dykstra of MLB.com reports. Analysis A first-round pick in 2022, Barriera underwent a hybrid Tommy John/internal brace procedure on his elbow in April 2024, and arm issues have limited him to just 23.2 innings since he made his pro debut. The 21-year-old southpaw was touching 97 mph with his fastball prior to last year's surgery however, and if he can stay healthy he's still young enough to begin re-establishing his status as a prospect. Barriera's multiple rehabs have also had the side benefit of re-shaping his body. "This is about as good physically as he's looked since we've had him," Blue Jays director of player development Joe Sclafani said toward the end of spring training. "Obviously, he got bigger and then tapered it back. Physically, he's in a really good spot. Mentally, he's in a really good spot. He's trending in a really good direction. We're excited."

    I wanted him and Jano extended for a long time, you were bringing up 20-25 AAV? Which was kind of ludicrous, friendo. I believe it's a great deal about as expected from several guys on here. I myself said 4/50, 5/58M is mucho bueno. As for him making more money to go to FA, for sure, that's the point of the extension, financial security.

    Place holders until Burr and Swanson come back. The Jays need to make room for 3 players, I'd assume they put Macko on the 60 Day IL as he's out for a couple months anyway, Nance likely refuses assignment, so one of those guys above will be gone. Selecting Barnes over Nance really doesn't make sense. I scratch my head at that decision. Meh...

    Well, he was very close and I agreed with him and Max. BB wanted him to sign for 17-25M AAV to lock him up for 4 years. This was a great deal for Kirk.

    lol... it's still true he's durable, the clip is speculative. You're too much man, and I said he doesn't have injury history. All athletes carry injury concern to some degree.
