  1. I didn't! lol, I don't think he'll be worth much of anything next year. Hope I'm pleasantly surprised. We'll get a good look at him next year regardless as he's at the top of the depth chart with Alford.
  2. I guess it depends what you think Lynn will get. If Lynn turns back into a 3 WAR player he will probably be about as valuable as Grandy + Dickey. Probably not a ton of value or money difference either way. I guess it depends if you prefer term or not term.
  3. You never did respond to my last trade suggestion. Get back to me bro!
  4. I don't have anything against Lynn, just more of an odds thing. I don't think we are going to compete in 2019 and 2020. With Donaldson gone our lineup looks like s***. Why lock up a SP for those years? Yelich at 5 more years is still around when you hope Vlad Jr and Bo are ready.
  5. He's on the team, so you could make the swap. I just don't see Gibby doing it, so I put Morales in the lineup.
  6. some good short term signings suggested in the other thread, but this looks like it fits more here. How do the Jays be half-ass competitive this year on their 20M budget. Trade for Yelich (weather its Bo + change, or Alford, Warmouth, Greene as a steal), Sign Grandy for 1/7, Sign Dickey for 1/6 Hitting; LF - C. Yelich 3B - J. Donaldson 1B - J. Smoak RF - C. Granderson SS - T. Tulowitzki DH - K. Morales C - R. Martin 2B - D. Travis CF - K. Pillar BN - A. Diaz BN - Y. Solarte BN - S. Pearce BN - L. Maile Minors Depth; OF; T. Hernandez, D. Pompey, D. Smith, E. Carrera (can he be sent down?), Alford (if not traded) IF; R. Urena, R. Tellez, C; D. Jansen, R. McGuire Comments; - Good MLB IF depth, decent MiLB OF depth (but not high upside other than Alford) - Lack of OF depth on the MLB roster with Pearce off the bench. CF could be covered by Yelich for in-game injuries or single off days for Pillar (who usually plays like 95% of games anyway). - Would ideally lose one of Morales or Pearce - Not a bad top of the line-up actually. Pitching; SP - M. Stroman SP - A. Sanchez SP - J. Happ SP - M. Estrada SP - R. Dickey CP - R. Osuna SU - J. Biagini SU - R. Tepera MRP - D. Leone MRP - D. Barnes LRP - A. Loup LRP - C. Ramirez (a rotation) Minors Depth; R. Borucki, uhhh, C. Greene or Reid-Foley if they figure s*** out? Comments; Extreme lack of depth pitching in BP and the rotation. Would have to add depth and pray. All in all its a team that should be able to win enough games to at least compete for a low-end playoff spot. Has lots of vets you can try and dish off at the deadline if it looks like you don't have a REALLY GOOD CHANCE to make the playoffs. Trade; Donaldson, Granderson, Pearce, Happ, Estrada, Dickey Take Offers on; Osuna, Smoak, Pillar Try (and likely fail) to move; the old guys; Tulo, Martin, Morales
  7. Good call on Granderson. As long as he'd come here instead of playing a lesser role on a contender. I assume it would be a 1 year deal, dude is almost 37 now. Still projects as a 2ish WAR player with full playing time. Could hit some real bombs here after years of 25-30 with the Mets (in that park).
  8. I was on the Nunez train, but I can't see the need with Solarte and Diaz in the fold. Spend that cash on OF or SP
  9. BTS, here are my projected cuts. Hit me up if interested, I've got shite for picks this year. Open to moving; - Gregory Polanco - Eric Thames - Julio Urias On the bubble; - Billy Hamilton - Cam Bedrosian Probably (or almost assured) cuts; - Jacoby Ellsbury - Darren O'Day - Pedro Strop - Joe Kelly - Liam Hendrick - Ian Kennedy - Chris Stratton - John Gant
  10. dear god yes. Call up Jeter now
  11. sure can do. When was that deal? I like to include dates on the trade history
  12. Main reason I put this up was in case someone comes out of the blue. If a 22 year old signs during the season and jump right to the majors, he is probably a significant asset. I figured waivers might be preferable in that situation to whoever notices he is in Yahoo first (probably at 4AM). Its probably an unlikely situation, but I figured it might be worthwhile allowing flexibility to place them on waivers.
  13. Its possible. Don't think there is a 'right' answer either way. Would make the waiver wire more interesting before the MiLB draft if any of those guys get called up early. I'm a bit ambivalent, but sort of like it the way it is now.
  14. ok, given the popularity of NJH's proposed rule change, I've come up with the following changes to the rules doc to hopefully provide clarity. Section 2; MLB Roster Management Original rule; 2.4 - Unowned prospects that did not hit AA or higher in the previous year cannot be added to MLB rosters on Yahoo, even if they hit AA, unless they are called up to the big leagues. If such players are called up in real life, then they can be added in Yahoo as soon as their MLB parent club adds them to their 25 man roster. Such players that have not been called up in real life by our MiLB draft are eligible to be drafted to MiLB rosters in the June rule 4. International free agents that are not subject to international spending restrictions and sign during the season are eligible to be claimed as soon as Yahoo adds them to the system. International free agents that were subject to international spending restrictions but are added to Yahoo's system during the season will be treated like prospects who did not hit AA in the previous season - that is, they cannot be added unless they are called up to the big leagues. Proposed Rules; 2.4 - Unowned prospects that did not play in AA or higher in the previous year cannot be added to MLB rosters on Yahoo, even if they play in AA or higher in the current season, unless they are called up to the big leagues. 2.5 - If a player who did not reach AA or higher in the previous season is promoted to the big leagues during the season, then they can be added in Yahoo as soon as their MLB parent club adds them to their 25 man roster. 2.6 - International Free Agents that sign during the season may only be added when they are added to their parent clubs 25 man roster. The commissioners may place international free agents on waivers if it is deemed more fair and appropriate in the sole discretion of said commissioner. This will generally be reserved for players who are expected to step right into a major league role upon signing Section 4 - Rule 5 (Waiver) Draft Original Rule; 4.4 - During the Rule 5 Draft, most remaining players in the Yahoo database (with the exception of prospects already owned on MiLB rosters) will be available. The Rule 5 Draft typically consists of MLB international signings, MLB players cut from keeper rosters, and unowned prospects (prospects may only be taken if they have played at AA or higher, see MiLB Roster Management; international signings that were subject to international spending limitations may not be taken in the Rule 5 Draft and ones that were not subject to such restrictions are Rule 5 eligible). Proposed Rules; 4.4 - Players eligible for the Rule 5 Draft generally consist of; - Unowned MLB players in the Yahoo database - International Free Agents who have signed with an MLB parent team, who will be 23 or older at any time during the upcoming MLB season - Unowned Prospects who played at AA or higher at some time during the previous MiLB season Section 5 - Rule 4 (MiLB) Draft Original Rule; 5.4 - Only unowned players who have never played an MLB game and who belong to an MLB parent team are eligible to be drafted. Players who have been drafted by an MLB parent team are eligible to be drafted, even if they have not signed with the parent club (as our annual draft will occur before the signing period has concluded). Drafted prospects that go unsigned and/or return to college may be kept at the owner’s discretion. Proposed Rule; 5.4 - Only players who have never played an MLB game are eligible to be drafted during the Rule 4. Beyond this criteria, players eligible for the Rule 4 Draft generally consist of; - Unowned Players drafted by an MLB parent team at any time, even if they have not yet signed. As our draft generally occurs before draft signing period has concluded, unsigned players are considered to belong to the MLB parent club that drafted them until their signing period has expired. Unsigned players who were drafted may be kept as a prospect at the owner’s discretion. - Unowned International Free Agents who have signed with an MLB parent club. - Unowned Undrafted free agents who have signed with an MLB parent club. Please review and discuss. Let me know if these look like they capture what we are trying to resolve here or if revisions are needed.
  15. lol, you had me sweat'n there. I generally process these things assuming good faith lol
  16. Its a good catch Hurl because Otani is such a unique case. Rule reads; Looks like it needs revision to me. I imagine we wrote this thinking no big league ready international would forfeit the bonus cash and sign with armature spending restrictions (and therefore would be rule 5 draft eligible) and that we wanted international signings who are prospects to be taken in the rule 4 draft. Otani f***ed by signing when he did and would have been eligible to be claimed after his first game instead of the rule 5. I don't imagine we will see this often, but its worth considering changing the rule, even if its that 'commissioners can choose to make an international signing eligible for the rule 5 draft' with the general rule being as is.
  17. I think you're light on this one. They just threw up a 6WAR projection on Donaldson, even if its just 1 year, its a bid deal.
  18. Cain does make perfect sense for them. Seems like a Giant's move
  19. That's a 20WAR difference!!! We better get this crazy comp right here!
