  1. I'd wouldn't make a bet the Jays make the playoffs next year, but I don't see us tearing it down this OS. There is a business case to going for it one more time and although it could hurt our rebuild to wait until the deadline, its not like we'll walk away with nothing for guys like JD (unless he hurts himself :s). End of the day this is baseball. The fact its a business is real. Not to mention the fact that anything can happen during a season. The Yanks or Sox are not sure bets to perform next year. The O/S winners don't always end up doing well. I trust the FO to make good baseball decisions, even if those are affected by some financial/public perception decisions
  2. What about that Machado fellow?
  3. I support your bench in spiting you (4G's!). You had a f***'n good day anyway! Also, if someone wanted to trade for a D-man, I have about 1 too many. Would consider a forward or a prospect. Could also package in Neuvirth if someone is in need of a backup tender.
  4. Drools over 80 hit 70 power. That certainly could make him the most best player. (can this be a new thing in upcoming prospect talk?)
  5. He's young with a power arsenal and good control. Good starting prospect
  6. yup, seems legal to me.
  7. I guess I come at it from the approach that we are trying to approximate the real Otani for fantasy purposes. Part of his real life appeal is that he might be able to be a two way guy. That is not how he is being treated by Yahoo in fantasy, which I think is a shame. Treating him as two assets is the easiest thing to do, but I'm not that interested in how easy it is. I'm more interested in what is most in line with the spirit of what fantasy baseball tries to be.
  8. So I think the Otani thing can be worked around (best as we can) with the following; 1- Otani only 1 player for all cut-down purposes 2- The owner only has to keep one copy of Otani on his roster at any time to retain ownership It sucks a bit for the owner as he needs to use two roster spots for the player, but it looks like the best we can do at this point. Giving the owner flexibility to drop Otani the hitter or Otani the pitcher (but not both) at any time should do something to make up for this. As does allowing the owner to collect hitting stats even when Otani is pitching. All other owners, just don't pick up anyone named Otani. In the hypothetical instance that Otani's owner is going to drop both copies in the future, the gentlemanly thing to do would be to announce it so people can make a claim (and not have to notice that both are FA's before deciding if they want to make a claim). Its one player, I'm sure we can handle it. Thoughts?
  9. welp, the results are the same. I'll try the developer tool idea tonight and see if I can narrow it down. Only other thing I can think of is its something in my router/network settings because it happens on any device I use on the network.
  10. thanks A-bomb I'll give it a try when I get to the office tomorrow. I did a few pings from home and I'm actually getting faster times on here than some other sites around. I've never used the tracert fucntion, whats it do? I just ran it an I assume a bunch of the timing out is a bad thing
  11. Got a tech question for all you computer wiz's out there. A few days ago this site started loading excruciatingly slow. I figured it was another attack so didn't think much of it. It was fine when I logged on at work the next day... great! But when I got home, same deal, slow as balls. Like 20+ seconds to load any page or refresh. This has been consistent, good at work, s*** here. Its even the same ISP at both locations. Happens on devices I use at both locations (laptop and mobile), so it must be my network at home I assume. I tried resetting my router, using a different browser, anything I could think of. It's annoying AF.... HALP!
  12. why is it so satisfying being a dink on the internet? I just don' know
  13. *affected
  14. I see the AAV as WAY higher. I'd be jumping if he was $15M
  15. You gotta love Cain. Well rounded player that produces value in all areas. You have to wonder how all those skills will age tho as he will be 35-36 at the end of a 3-4 year deal (and it sounds like he may get more). Defense and baserunning don't often age gracefully and his bat is good, not great.
  16. They still have Reyes if you wanted to do a combo of MiLB and major league guys
  17. yup, basically no risk unless they lose someone interesting carrying him on the roster. Plus $25K!! Man what a different world when a $25 is just worth some shot in the dark lol.
  18. I guess. I just think that if is pitching well enough to warrant staying on the roster, you would want to limit his injury exposure running and playing the field. And if he isn't pitching that well, the value of having a pinch runner / defensive CF'er (especially in the AL) probably wouldn't out-weigh just calling up a better RP
  19. man, he only pitched at high-A last year and walked 5 per 9. They really think they are going to roster him for the year? (especially a team of that quality). I guess he apparently throws near 100, so there is that
  20. not yet. lol, Gose was just selected by the Astros tho
  21. Welp, No selection for the Jays. Burch lasted to 5 tho
  22. This year isn't the time to trade Pillar, but I'd get his name out there at the deadline if we aren't in it, or the following OS. His value is so tied to putting up huge defensive seasons that I can see a sharp decline when it happens and he'll be going into his age 30 season after next year. But man what an unappreciated gift this guy has been. 9.5 WAR for league min and another projected <3.0 WAR this year for ~4M. JBJ's value will be an interesting test case for value. Another defensive wiz, but with much more offensive upside (and less on the defensive side).
  23. Wow, Stanton + Judge hitting b2b would be pretty f***ing wild
  24. last I heard he tried to play winter ball but was dropped by his club after sucking so much nad... also hasn't been able to get a visa to play in the US
  25. to be fair, reports were that Ventura was a pretty good guy off the mound. Acted like a total dick while pitching however.
