Hard to be super scared of signing a guy for 2-ish years at low dollars. He isn't projected to cost a ton. Fits for the Jays because he can play all over the diamond, especially at SS and 2B with our injury concerns. He could bust (as could any low end FA), but I'd still be interested in him.

What do people think about Tyler Chatwood? They are projecting him at $20/3 and the Coors effect is a bitch. Could be a steal if the AAV is only $6.666M and you are getting him in 3 mid-age seasons. Then again, he could suck

Man has Steenbergen been killing it this year in the WHL. I had thoughts of him him coming back to earth when he only had 2 A's in 3 games in late October. Then he follows it up with 7G's 7A's in his next 4 games! I'm gun-shy after getting really excited for Connor Garland (sucking again in the AHL), but the line is impressive 18GP, 28 G's, 21 A's... and they aren't all just PP G's either (only 6)

how'd that work out for Miami? That has to sting for a tax payer... 650MM for a team that only got 15,670 fans per game on average last year.

Yeah I have to think accepting QC for a reliever would be a gamble worth taking. You get paid way more than you will otherwise for 1 season, then you don't have the QC hampering your value when you are a FA next season. Risk is of course that you have a terrible season or are injured, so your value next season is diminished, but it still seems like a gamble worth taking to me.
