  1. I generally hold the stance that life kills people. I don't generally agree when people try to 'idiot proof' things when someone dies doing something they shouldn't have been doing in the first place. I'd have to see more details before I came to any conclusion. It certainly doesn't seem like this guy was doing much out of the ordinary at first glance. In either case, tough for the guys family.
  2. They guy seemed to be still 'waggleing' his bat as the pitch was delivered before he came back. I'm definitely no expert, but it looked to me like that had something to do with why some of his swings looked so loopy.
  3. well I'm hurt... Well... not that hurt. I can see how it would be frustrating. I'm not a quick mover when it comes to trades and I don't generally budge from what I feel someones value is. That and I've been uber busy this summer and probably just forget to respond to some peoples offers.
  4. Has also played almost exclusively 1B this year... which is not so good.
  5. I haven't had the same experience with the line-up management with scratches. Have you played recently?
  6. I actually like the league home page better in ESPN. What don't you like about the DL and Trade screens, just out of curiosity.
  7. Where about? on ESPN there is a little PP (probable pitcher) beside the name of any pitcher (on your roster or FA page) if they are likely to start a given day. I know you can click on your pitcher and see when there next schedule start is on Yahoo... is there an easier way?
  8. What archives are we talking about on a first year league (or do you mean personal achieves?). I guess it really depends how minor you think the aesthetic changes are. As someone who is active in leagues on both sites, I can tell you its painful working with Yahoo in comparison.
  9. hmmm... those are really small.... either way, the point stands.
  10. I know I've brought this up before, but a seasons worth of working on both Fantasy sites compels me to raise it again. I think we should have a league poll to switch over to the ESPN site. My primary reason for suggesting a move is mostly aesthetic... the site is just much nicer to look at. Lest you all think I'm vain, I'll follow that up by saying that, there is an increase in functionality that comes with sites that are "prettier". I think the site has a better layout and makes the site more readable. I also like some of the little features such as; - probably pitchers for the day being identified on your team page (so you don't have to go looking for that information, even if its just a click away) - recent player ratings being more available - more attractive AND functional trade block (not pictured below as the trade deadline is over) I've included a few pictures in case anyone is not familiar with the various page layouts. I think we should at least have a vote on it. Thoughts?
  11. It will be really interesting seeing what McCann gets on the market. I'd really love to see him in a Jays jersey. What a difference on both sides of the ball.
  12. As much as I hate A-Rod... that situation smells.
  13. Good retort... well though out and insightful. You are truly a credit to this forum.
  14. I really don't get the Melky hate. The guy has been bad this year, but he's been injured and is coming off a few pretty solid years. If we're not getting a legit return, I'd just roll the dice on him returning to form next year. and the steroid angle is dumb if anyone wants to throw that out as rebuttal. Nobody knows if that is affecting his production this year, and NOBODY can quantify how much.
  15. Isn't Olt a Cub?
  16. Well that would be boner inspiring
  17. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/07/orioles-willing-to-move-dylan-bundy.html Interesting tid-bit at the end
  18. I don't think Montreal is getting a team any time soon, but I have thought about who I would cheer for if they did. I'm a Manitoba boy so I don't have any loyalty to Toronto other than it being the Canadian team. I guess it might depend on what division they play in, but I could see me following both teams MLB and MiLB teams. This forum could be a pretty great set-up to follow 'Canadian Baseball' if they did get a team. We already have a 'Toronto Blue Jays' sub-forum. Wouldn't be hard to to a 'Montreal Expos' sub-forum as well.
  19. I will say I was one of the taller kids in my school at just over 6' around that age... but that being said... kids seem taller now since I was in school
  20. I was going to say, I was 6' at 16 for sure.
  21. There is a bit of a difference between being a seller and selling off on of your two best bats. You can disagree with the direction if you want, but its a little much calling him an idiot for not trading EE of Joey.
  22. Ben Sheets, Rich Harden, etc say hello
  23. 97? That seem dubious. It would be sweet if the new tendon juiced up his FB tho, it was nice seeing him hit 95 until his elbow exploded
