    Risk vs Reward, I feel like Ubaldo is the best guy out there. I could change my mind if he gets way more in FA than I anticipate, but I think he is the guy.

    Any further thought about editing the DDL Master Roster file to remove the accented letters (a-la José Fernández). It would make it easier to search.

    My god that makes so little sense... Kendry costs a draft pick, probably costs more, and is worth just about the same in terms of WAR. I'd also consider him an injury risk with that ankle. The only way this makes a lick of sense is if they can get a big return for Butler.

    I think Reyes still has a bundle of perceived value around the league, even if the surplus ins't there.

    Walker and Paxton come up and kick some ass. That would be one way. A Felix, Iwakuma, Walker, Paxton could be pretty dirty. Unlikely with 2 rookies however.

    I don't trust them to make that call, but I agree we could unload everyone for a huge haul in young talent. If we truly are up against our payroll limit, then we probably should starting at the trade dealine next year / off season. We should be able to get huge returns for Bautista and Edwin. Good returns for Dickey and Reyes. OK return of Rasmus and Lind. Some decent pieces for our BP guys. Maybe even something decent for Buehrle if we eat some cash. That could make for an Uber quick rebuild. Tank for 1-2 years after the trades and have a great base of ML talent (from the trade and our current system) along with some high draft picks.

    Ackley would be a nice get. Solid defensively with some nice upside. I really think he's the perfect fit.

    As devil's advocate. What if he blows his arm out this year? Then they are stuck with an 8MM bill for a lost season and no posting fee. There is also the future value to consider. 20M you get today is worth at least 1M more than 20M you get next year.

    http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/12/phillies-very-willing-to-move-jimmy-rollins.html Rollins as an option at 2b if you can you get Philly to take on some of the contract? It wouldn't be a bad plan to have a capable SS in the fold if Reyes goes down. Not much risk on a 1 year term.
