1. So lets see a league vote on who has the best farm system. I think the contenstants are JaysFever and myself unless anyone else think they should be considered. Prospects go from highest to lowest rank and there is 1 honourable mention category (reason should be clear when you see them). Who reigns supreme at not actually reigning supreme in the yahoo league!?!?!?!?

Jays Fever's Prospectsz3r0s Prospects

9 - Kris Bryant3 - Oscar Taveras

29 - Andrew Heaney13 - Gregory Polanco

46 - Allen Webster28 - Alex Meyer

49 - Jorge Soler35 - Yordano Ventura

51 - Colin Moran40 - Kohl Stewart

52 - Lance McCullers44 - Lucas Giolito

54 - Mike Foltyniewicz66 - Delino DeSheilds

57 - Garin Cecchini85 - Rafeal Montero

63 - Zach LeeNR - Danny Hultzen

72 - Michael ChoiceNR - James Paxton

88 - DJ PetersonNR - Jonathan Schoop

96 - Trey BallNR - Nick Cuiffo

HM - Carlos MartinezHM - Dylan Bundy

JF has a better quanityt of top prospects (according to MLB.com's list). z3r0s has more talent in the top 50. JF has a ton of guys in the middle of the list. z3r0s has a few interesting unrated players. What are the thought around the league in this battle of bad MLB teams!
  2. 3 - Oscar Taveras 13 - Gregory Polanco HM 20 - Dylan Bundy 28 - Alex Meyer 35 - Yordano Ventura 40 - Kohl Stewart 44 - Lucas Giolito 66 - Delino DeSheilds Jr 85 - Rafeal Montero All-in-All a pretty good farm if I do say so myself.

yeah that was pretty to watch.
  4. Medical = ok - good. yes Medical say his arm will fall off next year. no. Impossible to judge this one from the outside looking in. I really like Garza in a vacuum.
  5. Sammy, if you feel like trading Walker or Hill, let me know lol
  6. I'm with you on this. I really could have used a guy like Hill, but boxy and me are in similar re-building type positions and I couldn't' think of anything that made sense. Hill Should be a good producer for a few years yet.
  7. Toronto can compete in the 'big boy division' with a $130M - $150M payroll easily, but you have to do it in the right way. The right way is to offset home grown talent with free agents and there is no other way. Even the Yankees did it for years with Jeter, Posada, Mo, and Cano. They have been crappier year after year as those guys leave / retire. We had some nice 'home grown' (sort of) pieces last year with Jose, Edwin, and Lawrie, but then traded what would have been our base of home grown talent for basically FA contracts. Its set us back YEARS. Feels bad man.
  8. oh but we don't like incentives for some stupid f***ing reason.
  9. Jimenez then Garza on my list. I like AJ, but I don't see him coming back to TO for his last year. I think its Pits or retirement for him.
  10. How the f*** can you be worried about the contract length AND not want an opt out claus? The opt out is only used if the pitcher is playing well AND reduces the overall contract to less than 5 years.
  11. this. I like Tanaka, I like Ellsbury, heck I even like Beltran... but not at those figures. Not enough potential value vs the potential risk for my liking.
  12. Not disputing the point but I do like Hahn for the record.
  13. not the park I wanted Tanaka in.... booo! oh well.
  14. More than I would have been willing to pay for him, so I'm not really upset one way or another. I still don't really like the Yanks team. It helps them, but I don't think it vaults them up the standings greatly.
  15. As the future Tanaka owner, I would have been uphappy as well . Lets go Dodgers, Mariners, etc... you get the gist... oh or Blue Jays haha
  16. Not to mention that success in both cycling and sprinting is much more related to physical 'tools' than baseball is. Roids help undoubtably, but not like they would in sprinting.
  17. How much were the legends of the past hurt/helped by only playing against white players (not to mention their own brand of performance enhancers)? Ever era has its own set of wrinkles. Take a look at how a given player compared to other players in the same era. Its the only way to do it.
  18. Its really fun looking back at Bond's stats. I do it often and wish I could have watched him play during his prime. Crazy in just about every facet of the game. Juice can't make you understand the zone so completely.
  19. If we get Masterson I would probably be ok with not getting Jimenez, if we don't I think he is the perfect target for our team (contract, ceiling, etc, taken into consideration)
  20. badge and gun.
  21. He is 100% my bubble guy. I still feel like there is a deal to be made with someones roster overflow. I'll see what comes up.
  22. My Roster is looking like is going to wind up being C - Brian McCann 1B - James Loney 2B - Ryan Raburn SS - Jose Reyes 3B - Pablo Sandoval CF - Lorenzo Cain OF - Domonic Brown CF - Marcell Ozuna CF - Nate MCLouth C - Josmil Pinto SP - Josh Johnson SP - Matt Garza SP - Dan Straily SP - Dylan Bundy SP - Sean Nolin SP - Jorge De La Rosa (this saddens me) RP - Ryan Cook RP - Sean Doolittle RP - Sergio Santos RP - Fernando Rodney My rotation is a mess so I'll need to hope for a good performance from Tanaka and bounce back years from Johnson and Garza. It could be decent if that happens. I've got lots of rotation backup in the high minors that I'll also need to hope for. That and a good year by Taveras would help me a lot.
  23. Certainly could be better (especially as an everyday player). Pitching is a big need for me however and I think the value gap is small enough that need can be a strong factor in my preference.
  24. hmmm. I'd assume he is ok with swapping the #89 and #85 but I'll ask him... we'll make it work. btw, did that change before or after our deal? I could have been reading from the wrong column I suppose
