  1. btw, might be an interesting option to trade for Rickie + Cash to compete for our 2B job. If he does well we hold a 11.5M option on him for 2015 and if he doesn't we can void the option (as he won't reach the 1200 PA in 2013/14 plateau to guarantee the option) Was only a few years ago that he was a 3+WAR player... and you know, our 2B is worse than my fantasy team.
  2. I take Rickie Weeks as a final stab at filling 2B.
  3. Anyone know if Havok is around? He's up and I pick right after him.

I do not like this, makes me think Price is hurt worse than they are letting on.
  5. moral of the story is 'always through money at the guys you pick, it will come back to haunt you often enough'. unfortunately that moral doesn't help us in the new draft cap system.

I don't see the Rangers being good enough to make those picks much worse that a mid-rounders. I like the deal for TB, hate it for my fantasy team (Having Marty and Stamkos)
  7. boooooooo, I'm so close to my last pick
  8. If you go the route of trading our talent with an eye on retooling I don't think we have to go "full rebuild" in our case. Bautista and Edwin get you a premium MLB ready prospect and likely a very good prospect (or maybe two). There contracts alone are quite valuable. Reyes probably gets you a premium MLB ready prospect and a lesser prospect. Not that much surplus in his contract, but he is a name and will produce good WAR at a premium position in the short term. Dickey should be able to get you a nice return with pedigree and a dirt cheap contract. 200IP lock and Cy Young upside. Rasmus and Melky are rentals, but can certainly net you some talent (not MLB ready blue chippers, but talent). Trade the whole BP for whatever. Maybe keep some of the controllable guys if the return isn't right. Trade those guys this year and you have a nice base of young MLB ready talent. Use the money you saved to sign a few good FA's to compliment the young guys. Front load their contracts so you can extend the above noted prospects. If you pick the right prospects and sign the correct FA's you can be back to the level of this team (or better) in a couple of years with a much better long term outlook.
  9. So Boxy's window has expired? Silvergun and Silvergun the next two picks?
  10. Get real! He's clearly a James Loney guy.... Rays Man! Cummon!

  13. http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/threads/1720-Happy-Birthday-Board-Legend-Hurl?highlight=birthday I knew I wasn't making that up... what is the truth!!
  14. Isn't Hurl like 21? He's gotta stop chatting up those 11 year olds with cocktails.
  15. damn you new avatar Gsnarls. I never anticipated that I would WANT to sign Santana. With all the other options we had. I am despaired
  16. Does anyone have an NA spot they expect to be vacant heading into the season? I'm honestly interested.
  17. I'll be interesting to see how eager people will be to use roster spots on fresh AA guys when they aren't slam dunk top 100 prospect types.
  18. What very specific prospect could you possibly be talking about. I just can't C Just who you could be talking about.
  19. by upcoming, I mean picks that occur before my final pick at #82
  20. any of the upcoming picks feel like trading me for the MiLB pick #85 and waiver pick #82? Speedygose?
  21. This exactly. Not saying he ever gets there, but he doesn't have to hit much to be worth 2-3 WAR. Not to mention guys who generate most of their value with defense seem to me to be chronically undervalued in terms of contracts. They can be good assets (no data on this, just a general observation).
  22. "62 z3r0s - P DL McGowan, aka Lambchops " I can't believe you've done this.
  23. Was not on the board this morning, just leave the window open. Was out boozing last night, sorry about the delay.
