He has a 43 wRC+ on flyballs this year and had a 129 wRC+ on flyballs last year. I dunno. I don't think it's a stretch to say that his flyballs that were previously homers are now turning into outs is a massive problem. The chase rate looks like a problem too. They can co-exist, Max.
Good point. It looks like he went from being an above average hitter to an avg/below average hitter with one swift change of the ball. Disgusting.
I wonder who else was heavily affected by this. Lindor? Gurriel?
Edit:
I did a quick statcast query. Gurriel has three between 95/99 and 20-24 and all of them were lineouts.

This is kind of crazy. They are actively ruining the sport. It's impressive that they got this so wrong.
They basically increased the number of strikeouts and made a s*** ton of flyballs turn into outs. That 31% decrease in 95-99 EV/20-24 LA reaching base is shocking.
Is it just me, or has the umpiring been absolutely atrocious this year? I feel like every game I watch has at least one or two blatantly terrible, blown calls.
WHat if basebal had a rule where baserunners didn't reset at the end of each half inning. So if you loaded the bases and the inning was over you would start the next inning with the bases loaded and 0 outs
When do you all think we could see Wander Franco this year? Adames has been kind of s***, so you have to think the Rays are thinking about pulling the trigger?
The Rays shifted 4 outfielders against Trout, and Trout did his thing. Vasgersian, a well known anti-shifter, with a good candidate for worst home run call of the year:
Lol? He's only given up two batted balls with a 100+ MPH exit velo (one of those was a double). And 3 more between 90 MPH and 100 MPH. 12 balls in play were under 90 MPH exit velo. This isn't batted ball luck. Are you even watching?
