  1. Maese just struckout the side. Looks reeeallly good. Sinker 91-94 T95 with late movement. 85-87 hard, tight slider with depth that he's throwing for strikes. He threw one curveball in the last inning. Rob Fai said, Maese told him he'll mix in 3 or 4 four seam fastballs per game but i havent seen one yet.
  2. Lizardo just hit a grand slam. Maese looks as advetised. Sinker/slider/curveball, good command, throws strikes, lots of movement on that sinker. Pretty tough to square up.
  3. Vancouver Canadians game is on Shaw again tonight. Maese on the mound.
  4. Just announced Sanchez is going the allstar game
  5. http://m.bluejays.mlb.com/news/article/188884964/young-blue-jays-arms-ready-for-futures-game/?tcid=tw_share TORONTO -- Blue Jays fans could get a glimpse at a pair of promising young arms during Sunday's SiriusXM All-Star Futures Games at Petco Park in San Diego. Minor League pitchers Francisco Rios and Angel Perdomo were rewarded for their strong starts to the season with spots on the World Team, and a chance to compete against the top Minor League prospects in the game. A right-handed starter who is not ranked among Toronto's Top 30 prospects by MLBPipeline.com, Rios has emerged with a breakout season over two levels in the Minor Leagues. Signed by the Blue Jays in 2013 out of Mexico, the 21-year-old is 6-3 this season with a 1.96 ERA in 16 starts, and has shown improved production across the board. Rios has allowed just 78 hits, while limiting the opposition to three home runs over 91 1/3 innings, and his breakthrough has been no surprise to Toronto's front-office brass. "We definitely expected him to have a big season," said Gil Kim, the Blue Jays' director of player development. "One of the main goals for him was to have an aggressive mindset and challenge with the fastball a bit more. We know that he does have the pitchability and the stuff to be a future Major Leaguer." A large part of Rios' success this season has been the ability to repeat his delivery, while improving his fastball command. Rios originally started the year with low Class A Lansing, allowing four earned runs in 30 innings, while striking out 43 batters and walking just eight. That success translated into a promotion to Class A Advanced Dunedin, where Rios has allowed 16 earned runs and struck out 43 batters over 62 1/3 innings. "I remember scouting Francisco since he was 14 years old, and he's always been able to spin a breaking ball, and he's always known how to pitch," Kim said. "That confidence he has in knowing that he can be one of the best guys in our system -- and in this game every night -- has changed his mentality a little bit, and it's changed the way he's attacked hitters. It's translated into a lot of success. "He's got a true out-pitch in the slider and he's been setting hitters up with the fastball before putting them away. He also has a curveball and a changeup to go along with it. Like with a lot of young pitchers, the more innings he throws and seasons he has, the more he'll improve." The 22-year-old Perdomo was added to the roster in place of injured Mariners prospect Dylan Unsworth. Ranked as the 23rd-best prospect in the Blue Jays' system by MLBPipeline.com, the left-handed Perdomo has spent his season with Class A Lansing. Perdomo, who was signed by the Blue Jays out of the Dominican Republic in 2011, has gone 2-3 with a 2.71 ERA in 16 appearances -- including 14 starts -- this season. The 6-foot-6, 200-pound southpaw has struck out 96 batters in in 73 innings, while allowing just 47 hits and 34 walks. "He's a big body with a deceptive delivery," said Kim, adding that the Blue Jays view Perdomo as a starter long term. "The key to him is that the hitters don't pick up his fastball, so you'll see a lot of strikeouts -- and he limits his walks. If you watch him, he's got a lanky frame and, really, it's an uncomfortable look for both righties and lefties. He pounds the zone with his fastball, and he's been improving his slider, as well as his changeup. Major League Baseball, MLB.com, Baseball America and the 30 big league clubs selected the 25 players that will play for the U.S. and World Teams. Each Major League organization has at least one representative and all players from full season Minor League teams are eligible to be selected. The SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game features top Minor League prospects competing as part of All-Star Sunday. The U.S. Team, which has won each of the past six games, leads the all-time series, 11-6. As part of its live All-Star Week programming, MLB Network will exclusively televise -- and MLB.com will live stream -- the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on Sunday. The outing has long been a marquee event for Minor Leaguers across baseball, giving the next wave of talent a chance to play on a big stage. "You're surrounded by the best names in the Minor Leagues and it gives you a motivational boost there, knowing you might be lot closer than you think," Kim said. "The motivation, the inspiration that you can draw from being on that world stage and competing against the best proves to a lot of guys that they're pretty good. Getting thrown into those situations with the amount of fans and the experience only makes a player better, in terms of handling pressure and bigger environments."

  8. Time for a mighty KP Home Run Cut.
  9. Thats a tank shot right there.
  10. ⚾ Wade ⚾️ ‏@Every5thDay 4h4 hours ago Got to see Ryan Borucki pitch last night in Lansing. Quite impressive out for the young lefty. Sat 93-96 most of the game, with command. Didn't realize he was throwing this hard (although could be a hot stadium gun). With his changeup... that's pretty intriguing.

  16. http://i.imgur.com/58Xy6GG.png http://i.imgur.com/Tzdgb59.png http://i.imgur.com/jdaXK74.png The Bisons lost the first game of seven straight contests with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Friday, falling 3-1 to their IL North rival. A solid debut for Wilmer Font, who allowed two earned runs in 6.0 innings, and a ninth inning home run for Matt Dominguez were not enough to clinch the Bisons' first home win since June 23. "It was a great start," Bisons manager Gary Allenson said of Font's debut. "I don't know if he had butterflies or not, but I'll take two runs in six innings every time." Font joins the Bisons after spending the last two years with Ottawa of the Canadian-American Association. He previously pitched parts of two seasons with the Texas Rangers. The righty pitched three scoreless frames to begin his Bisons' career, before Lehigh Valley took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth. Max Stassi shot a ball to left field, where the Bisons' Darrell Ceciliani misplayed the hit, allowing Darin Ruf to score and Stassi to reach second. Andrew Knapp plated top prospect J.P. Crawford with a RBI single in the sixth. Font benefitted from a beautifully turned inning-ending double play in the frame, keeping the score 2-0 in favor of Lehigh Valley. Ceciliani redeemed himself in the fifth after his error in the fourth. The leftfielder leaped in front of the outfield wall to take away a leadoff extra-base hit by Darnell Sweeney. In the sixth, the returning Dalton Pompey also made a highlight in the field, corralling a hard-hit rocket in centerfield by Nick Williams. Pompey returned to the Bisons' lineup after sustaining a concussion on June 18, when he ran into the left-field wall in a road game against the IronPigs. "Great catch, great jump, it almost looked like he outran the ball, but he took a perfect route after it," Allenson said of Pompey's fielding tonight. "It's nice to have him back. He swung the bat pretty good for not being out there for three weeks." After retiring the first eight men to face him, IronPigs' starter Ben Lively yielded a two-out single to Alexi Casilla in the bottom of the third. He allowed just four more hits, walking one, over 6.0 innings of shutout ball. He improves to 4-2 at Triple-A this year. "Lively pitched pretty good against us," Allenson said. "He outpitched us. But we played really good defense tonight, and if you asked me if I'd take three runs in nine innings, I'd take it every time out." Casey Kotchman doubled for the Herd's first extra base hit in the bottom of the fifth, and Domonic Brown followed suit in the next inning, but the Bisons could not capitalize either time. Jesus Montero singled off Lively in the sixth following Brown's two-base knock. Brown attempted to score, but was thrown out on a strong throw by leftfielder Nick Williams. Font finished with a line of 6.0 innings, two earned runs, and no strikeouts, in his Bisons' debut. "I felt pretty good, working on my fastball and all my pitches," Font said postgame. "My goal right now is to keep healthy and help the team to win." Franklin Morales relieved Font in the seventh, appearing in his seventh rehab assignment with Buffalo. Morales allowed a solo-homer to Darnell Sweeney increasing the IronPigs' lead to 3-0. Pat Venditte hurled scoreless frames in the eighth and ninth for the Herd. Colton Murray replaced Lively for the bottom of the seventh, and after a perfect inning, Michael Mariot struck out a pair in the eighth. Edward Mujica came in for the save for Lehigh Valley in the ninth, when Matt Dominguez ended the Pigs' shutout bid with his ninth home run of the year. Dominguez ties Jesus Montero for the team lead in homers. The IL's leader in saves, Mujica earned his 23rd save of the season, as Cam Perkins dove on a ball to right off the bat of David Adams, ending the ballgame. Scott Diamond looks to even his record at 7-7 tomorrow, as he takes the mound for Buffalo in game two of the series against Lehigh Valley. James Russell is scheduled to start for the IronPigs, with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. at Coca-Cola Field. BISONS NOTES: In addition to Pompey's return, pitcher Drew Hutchison and infielder Shane Opitz rejoined the Herd on Friday. Hutchison pitched in two games for Toronto earlier in the week during his second call-up of 2016. Opitz played one game with Buffalo earlier in the season, after a 65-game stint with Double-A New Hampshire. Andy Burns was also recalled to the Blue Jays before Friday's game… Catcher Tony Sanchez singled in the eighth, increasing his IL-best 22 game on base streak… Matt Dominguez now has reached base in 11 straight games… The Bisons have now lost five straight home games, with their last win at Coca-Cola Field coming on June 23 against Louisville. http://i.imgur.com/SDAL7Ot.png http://i.imgur.com/luqUZqa.png http://i.imgur.com/3g5fMXj.png http://www.milb.com/assets/images/4/7/4/181578474/cuts/Tellez_Rowdy_7266_schofield_cd2mdf10_mz8p79el.jpg Manchester, NH - Christian Lopes had three hits including an RBI double, but a late Fisher Cats rally fell short in a 9-7 loss to Binghamton on Friday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. New Hampshire (39-49) scored the final five runs of the game, and had several chances to tie in the late innings. They scored a run in the eighth when Jorge Flores reached on an error, but left the bases loaded. The Fisher Cats also loaded the bases in the ninth, scoring runs on a fielders choice and another Mets error, but couldn't get the final two. The Mets (39-48) hit the board in the top of the third inning. Maikis De La Cruz walked and Champ Stuart followed with a bunt single. Derrik Gibson doubled in one run and Stuart scored on a sacrifice fly by Matt Oberste for a 2-0 lead. For a second straight night, the Fisher Cats were victimized by a big inning in the middle of the game. The Mets rolled out to a 7-0 lead, scoring five times in the top of the sixth inning. After the Fisher Cats made it 7-2 on a sacrifice fly by Dwight Smith Jr. and a groundout by Jason Leblebijian, Binghamton hit right back for two in the top of the seventh inning. Lopes and Lavarnway had RBI hits in the bottom of the seventh inning to make it 9-4. Rainy Lara (5-7) earned the win, allowing just two unearned runs in six innings. David Roseboom finished up for his third save. Jeremy Gabryszwski (5-6) took the loss. The Fisher Cats and Mets meet again on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. An Atlas Fireworks Show will follow the game, presented by Hyundai. http://i.imgur.com/NmvKMPt.png http://i.imgur.com/24YYkiA.png http://i.imgur.com/3LwhzZ2.png http://i.imgur.com/kAjWboT.png http://i.imgur.com/aepkluh.png http://i.imgur.com/Cqi1Ixr.png http://i.imgur.com/woavtfA.png http://www.milb.com/assets/images/0/7/0/180168070/cuts/Borucki_6903_kcm8td3w_2qa47nk0.jpg LANSING, Mich. - Justin Atkinson spun a two-run double down the first base line in the seventh inning, and the Lansing Lugnuts (11-5, 47-39) used the pitching of Ryan Borucki and Andrew Case to tip the Lake County Captains (7-8, 47-38), 2-1, in the Friday night opener of a four-game series at Cooley Law School Stadium. The Lugnuts have won four of the first five games of their current eight-game homestand, improving to 8-1 overall at home in the second half. A Willi Castro RBI double in the fourth inning gave the Captains their only run of the night, though the efforts of Lake County starter Brock Hartson made it appear that one run might be enough. After six shutout innings and seven strikeouts from Hartson, though, Lake County brought in reliever Leandro Linares for his Midwest League debut - and the Lugnuts quickly took advantage. Connor Panas led off the seventh by drawing a walk against Linares (Loss, 0-1). Two batters later, Ryan Hissey singled to left field. Atkinson followed by punching a grounder inside the first base line, scoring Panas to tie the game and Hissey to take the lead. The blow brought the game back into the favor of Lansing starter Borucki (Win, 6-3) who gave up six hits and three walks in 7 2/3 innings, striking out six. The left-hander departed in the eighth in a crucial spot, loading the bases with two outs. Case (Save, 1) took it from there, inducing a groundout to first base from All-Star Willi Castro to strand all three Captains, and then setting the side down in order in the ninth. Saturday is Jimmy Buffett Night with LAFCU Fireworks following the 7:05 p.m. game. Lake County right-hander Shao-Ching Chiang (5-6, 4.29) pitches against Lansing right-hander Jordan Romano (1-0, 1.17). http://i.imgur.com/SUZAqgH.png http://i.imgur.com/jRSf90a.png http://i.imgur.com/ADhvgnm.png http://i.imgur.com/AarbFxh.png http://i.imgur.com/b5J1SuO.png http://i.imgur.com/4qSVptp.png http://i.imgur.com/IHRIkyz.png http://i.imgur.com/s7ATcmS.png http://i.imgur.com/T8Dqqjv.png http://i.imgur.com/h4DJvwI.png http://i.imgur.com/G8fBZXg.png http://i.imgur.com/QHu6hHZ.png http://i.imgur.com/gKFxNoI.png http://i.imgur.com/HL275kC.png Kings 3 Stars of the Night 1) Sean Reid Foley: SRF struck out 6 over 5 innings, with most importantly just 1 walk. 2) Javier Hernandez: Hernandez went 2/2 with a home run and a walk in the 1st game of a double header. 3) Rowdy Tellez: Tellez continued to cruise through AA, going 3/5 with 3 singles. Kings Platinum Arencibia 1) John Stilson: Stilson got torched for 5 runs (4 earned) in his 0.2 inning relief appearance. He gave up a whopping 6 hits.
  17. You also have a massive Myers boner.
  18. He's been pretty much as advertised through the first month of his pro career. Low strikeout #s/lots of walks, not much power (singles and doubles hitter). Good defense. It'll be interesting to see how his profile plays at higher levels.
  19. Tellez 3/5 today after going 3/4 yesterday.
