  1. I thought you meant Derek Norris.
  2. Per Davidi - we are also interested in Tyson Ross. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/sanchez-dilemma-lingers-blue-jays-hunt-pitching-help-continues/ Starter Andrew Cashner starts Tuesday and the Blue Jays have scouted him, and they’re also believed to have some interest in the injured Tyson Ross, who’s working toward a mid-August return. Really, though, they’re exploring every possible avenue, trying to find the right value and fit, armed with enough prospect capital to get a deal done, but not the fattest stash of chips at the table.
  3. I will never understand why people chalk up consistency ("prone to serious slumps at the plate") as a negative. Literally every position player in baseball is "prone to serious slumps at the plate". Consistency, especially for non elite position players, does not exist. Mike Trout has played in 97 games this season. In ~35 of them, he has recorded a wRC+ under 60. I guess he sucks, too inconsistent.
  4. He had 1.6 fWAR in 87 games last season.
  5. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/instagraphs/i-dont-mean-to-alarm-you-but-melvin-upton-jr-is-back/ He's on pace for a 2.5 fWAR season, certainly a nice player to have, and not the shitbag that he was in 2013 and 2014.
  6. I have it as does Boxy I believe. I said when the draft started that I would be busy and not able to keep it updated throughout the whole thing, but no one said anything when i said I would give out permissions to anybody who wanted to help update it. PM me your email though. I can send you edit permissions
  7. He was a minor league free agent.
  8. So is this where we hear Pillars new walkup song?
  9. Ryan Schimpf is doing big things. We should have given him a chance. Good for him though.
  10. Is that obvious? He could very easily be in their plans for a callup within the next couple months. Just because it hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it never will. Just to say though, you are right he could very well be a s*** bag like Tepera. Just based off of his steamer projections and minor league numbers/swinging strike%, the upside is worth giving him a chance. Never know unless you try.
  11. He's not the only one either. Ben Rowen could be useful with his extreme ground ball rates. Dermody might be a useful LOOGY (although we have a few of those guys, like Girodo and Loup). There's probably more.. but those 2 come to mind off the top of my head.
  12. I don't see why he doesn't deserve a shot at this point. Give him low leverage situations to see what he can do and then go from there. If he sucks then send him back to Buffalo and it's nothing lost. If he's good then it's a massive win. There isn't really a risk in giving him a chance, only upside.
  13. It's time to give this guy a shot. He's posted elite numbers as a reliever at every level of the minor leagues. 26 years old, and probably better than the Tepera/Venditte/Antolin etc. spinning wheel of s*** bags we've been rotating through this year. http://i.imgur.com/4tfnNUW.png http://i.imgur.com/CrFF8MV.png He also projects by Steamer as a very good reliever right now.
  14. Lmao why so many rules. Grant just take the bet dude
  15. We want Thomas Szapucki if he's available. If someone could check and let me know that would be great. I'm unsure. And if someone could pm the next guy that would be fantastic Too.
  16. Torres was highly touted as an IFA. A quick google search tells me he got 1.7 mil. Urena got about a million less. Prospect status can carry a long way. It's just the way the industry works.
  17. Cavan Biggio has slowed down a little bit although the overall profile hasn't really moved. BABIP regression is a bitch
  18. http://i.imgur.com/QsPGOcx.png http://i.imgur.com/JeSUnFa.png http://i.imgur.com/HffDjII.png The Gwinnett Braves won't return to Coca-Cola Field until the 2017 season….good! The International League South Division opponent has found a home at Coca-Cola Field at the expense of the Bisons in recent years. This weekend was more of the same as the Braves capped off a four-game sweep of the Herd with a 2-1 victory in front of 9,214 on Sunday afternoon. The last time the Bisons beat Gwinnet at home was June 17, 2013. Since then, 13 straight contests have gone the Braves way. On Sunday, it was a two-run fourth inning that gave Gwinnett the pair of runs it would need for victory. Former Bisons infielder Sean Kazmar greeted reliever Wilmer Font with a two-run single to centerfield to plate Hector Olivera and Rio Ruiz. Both runners had reached against starter Scott Copeland, who re-signed with Toronto this week after a three-month stint in the Korea Baseball Organization. Copeland was on the Bisons Opening Day roster but asked for his release so he could sign with the LG Twins of the KBO. He yielded five hits in three-plus innings in his return to the Herd's rotation. Darrell Ceciliani accounted for the Bisons' lone run in the eighth inning with his sixth homer of the season. Jose Bautista went 0-4 in his third MLB injury rehab game, bouncing into a pair of 5-4-3 doubleplays. BISONS NOTES: Aaron Loup returned to the Bisons after being optioned by Toronto on Friday. He tossed an inning of scoreless relief, getting two grounders and a foul out…Bobby Korecky was placed on the disabled list prior to the game…Domonic Brown had a single in four trips to the plate to extend his hit streak to 10 games. He's reached base safely in 36 of his last 39 games. http://i.imgur.com/F7fZ8L0.png http://i.imgur.com/MmuHfhR.png http://i.imgur.com/pVOHg3g.png Manchester, NH - Ian Parmley hit his second home run of the season, but the Fisher Cats fell to Trenton 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The Thunder (62-39) took three of the four games in the series. Ronald Herrera (7-6), who was part of a combined no-hitter of the Fisher Cats earlier this season, beat them again on Sunday. He allowed one run on six hits over six innings, striking out seven. Cale Coshow finished up for his first save. Trenton started strong with a couple of runs in the top of the first inning against New Hampshire starter Taylor Cole (2-3). Tyler Wade singled and scored on a double by Dustin Fowler. Miguel Andujar plated Fowler with an RBI single. The Thunder made it 3-0 in the top of the fifth inning. Wade singled for the second time, advancing to second on a walk, eventually scoring on a sacrifice fly by Mike Ford. Parmley homered off Herrera leading off the bottom of the seventh. Herrera left after the hit, allowing just the one run. Cole allowed three runs on nine hits in his six innings for New Hampshire (45-55). John Anderson and Jason Berken worked three scoreless innings in relief with a combined five strikeouts. The Fisher Cats open a seven-game roadtrip on Monday night in Harrisburg. RHP Conner Greene (2-2, 5.06) takes the mound against RHP Michael Brady (2-4, 4.14) for the Senators. Game time is 7:00 p.m. The next home game at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium will be on Tuesday, August 2, when the Fisher Cats host the Akron Rubber Ducks at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans that night will receive a Bob Stanley Bobblehead, courtesy of Northeast Delta Dental. Kings Platinum Arencibia 1) Zach Jackson: Jackson got torched for 4 hits, 3 earned runs and 2 walks in 1.1 IP.
  19. Franky Cordero was a disaster signing of epic proportions

  21. Friday, July 22 2016 http://i.imgur.com/sfyVu41.png http://i.imgur.com/jFTAppM.png http://i.imgur.com/GKaUo58.png http://www.milb.com/assets/images/1/3/4/191161134/cuts/Bautista_Jose_640_uu7hkgyj_lgufinqa.jpg The Bisons lost to the Gwinnett Braves on Friday 7-1, in what was Jose Bautista's first rehab game in Buffalo. Bautista, the six-time American League All-Star, injured his big left toe in a game against the Phillies on June 16, and joins the Herd after hitting a home run rehabbing with Single-A Dunedin on Wednesday. Batting third and playing right field, Bautista struck out looking on a slider in his first at bat, flew out to center in the fourth, and grounded to third in the bottom of the sixth. He left following a half inning in the field in the seventh, and was replaced by Domonic Brown. "Anytime you're out on the field and it's what you love doing, it's exciting," Bautista said postgame. "It's one step closer, I feel pretty good, I don't have any pain or anything like that, so it's encouraging stuff today." "He looked fine," Allenson said of Bautista. "I think for the most part he's just trying to get his timing back. He made contact on a tough slider that he chopped down third base, you don't get hits in every game and drive balls out of the ballpark." "Everything is pretty good, obviously not 100%, but I don't think anybody truly plays at 100% in the big leagues anymore these days." Bautista said of his health status. "It's a long season and everybody's dealing with something, but I felt pretty good." A 7.0 inning, one-run start by Casey Lawrence was wasted, as the Herd was held scoreless for the first eight innings, and totaled just five hits in the contest. The climax of the game occurred in the top of the ninth, when a six-run outburst by Gwinnett broke a tie game wide open. Rob Whalen tossed a strong start for the Braves, allowing four hits in 7.2 innings, while Matt Lipka went 2-4 with four RBI, and Reid Brignac knocked three hits for Gwinnett. "I wish I could have contributed a little bit more," Bautista said. "That guy's pretty good. He had a little movement on the ball that I couldn't really figure out, so hats off to him, because he kept a good lineup in check." "We faced a kid, 22 years old, in his second Triple-A start, and we didn't do anything off him," Bisons' manager Gary Allenson said postgame. "We didn't get a guy in scoring position until two outs in the eighth inning. We scored our run on a swinging bunt down third [base] and three walks." Braves' centerfielder Matt Lipka broke a scoreless game in the top of the third, depositing a no-doubt home run over the leftfield wall. Gwinnett's Rob Whalen pitched eight shutout innings, before allowing a single and a walk with two outs in the ninth inning. Gwinnett turned to their bullpen, and a walk to Ryan Goins loaded the bases. Domonic Brown then worked a free pass, plating the Bisons' first run to tie the game. Pat Venditte worked a one-two-three eighth inning, before giving up the go-ahead run in the top of the a ninth. A leadoff triple by Omar Infante was followed by a Reid Brignac bloop double, which fell off the glove of a hustling Ryan Goins in left field. First baseman George Kottaras drove in Infante with a single later in the inning. Bobby Korecky emerged from the Bisons' pen with the bases loaded in the ninth, when Matt Lipka cleared the bases with a triple, capping off a six-run ninth inning for the G-Braves. Casey Lawrence gets a no-decision despite another quality performance. The righty loaded the bases in the fourth, but escaped the jam by fanning Rio Ruiz looking with a slider. It was one of his four punch outs of the ninth, during which he allowed just one earned run over four hits in his seventh start for Buffalo this year. Lawrence toiled the rubber for three starts in April, before being sent down to Double-A New Hampshire. Since his return on July 5, he is 2-0, and has not allowed more than three runs in his four starts. "I'm sure he trusts his stuff a lot better," Allenson said of Lawrence's emergence. "When he's in trouble, he doesn't let it bother him. He worked out of a bases-loaded jam, and pitched well enough to win, we're just not doing anything with the bats." The Bisons' starter benefited from several ground balls, including five in the first three innings. He pitched economically, throwing 67 of his 93 pitches for strikes. "Lawrence did another great job," Allenson said of his starter "He made one mistake. He did a super job going seven innings." Joining Bautista with the Herd on rehab are Chris Colabello and Ryan Goins. Colabello went 1-4 at first base, while the shortstop Goins went hitless in three at bats, walking once. The Bisons totaled just five hits, as the club loses their second-straight game to Gwinnett, and third overall. The Herd is just 6-13 in the month of June. The Bisons made several defensive gems, two of which were turned by the rehabbing Ryan Goins. Emilio Bonifacio grounded to Goins at shortstop in the fifth, who made a strong play in the hole. In the eighth, he ran for a grounder up the middle, stretching, spinning, and firing to first to retire Braeden Schlehuber. A crowd of 13,554 packed a windy Coca-Cola Field for the Herd's 100th game of the season. It was also Legends of the Aud Wrestling Night, featuring appearances by Eric Bischoff, The Nasty Boys and "Leaping" Lanny Poffo, amongst others. "It was pretty good," said Bautista of the Coca-Cola Field faithful on Friday. "I saw they had a couple promotions with wrestlers before the game, and everybody got into that one. I've never seen anybody get clotheslined on the mound before. It seems like there's a passionate fan base here. I love the fact that they come out and support the team, and it seems like they love baseball." Tomorrow, the Bisons host the much-anticipated Star Wars Night at Coca-Cola Field. Buffalo will face Gwinnett for game three of a four-game series, with Drew Hutchison taking the mound against Roberto Hernandez, who pitched for the Herd earlier this season. First pitch us set for 6:05 p.m. The event is sold out, and will call box offices open at 10:00 a.m. BISONS NOTES: The Blue Jays optioned both Andy Burns and Aaron Loup to Buffalo on Friday. Burns hit .238 in 70 games with the Herd, while Loup pitched eight scoreless outings with the Bisons earlier in the year… Reliever Bobby Korecky ties Fernando Cabrera for most pitching appearances with the Bisons in the modern era, pitching in his 136th game… Buffalo has not beaten Gwinnett at Coca-Cola Field since June 17, 2013. http://i.imgur.com/U89vBbp.png http://i.imgur.com/WXcHxp2.png http://i.imgur.com/R7gkybX.png Manchester, NH - Roemon Fields went 2-for-4 with an RBI single and stole home in the Fisher Cats 5-2 win over Trenton on Friday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. The Fisher Cats (45-53) broke a 1-1 tie with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Emilio Guerrero singled, advancing to third on a sacrifice and a wild pitch. Christian Lopes doubled to make it 2-1, and scored on a single by Fields. Fields, advanced to third on a stolen base and error, and stole home to make it 4-1. Jason Leblebijian doubled and scored on a single by Ryan Lavaranway off Thunder losing pitcher Daniel Camarena (7-3). Shane Dawson and four New Hampshire relievers combined in the effort. Dawson (6-4) became the first six-game winner on the staff, allowing one run in five innings. Trenton (60-39) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning. Dante Bichette Jr. led off with a double, advanced to third on a fly out and scored on a single by Thunder DH Dustin Fowler. The Fisher Cats tied the game in the bottom of the inning. Ian Parmley singled and moved to second on a groundout. He scored on a Fields single and a Trenton error to make it 1-1. Chris Smith earned his sixth save with a perfect ninth inning, including two strikeouts. The series with the Trenton Thunder (Yankees Double-A) continues Saturday night. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and an Atlas Fireworks Show will follow the game presented by Auto Fair. A pair of big innings helped the LumberKings reign: a three-run second against Tayler Saucedo, and a three-run ninth against relievers Jackson Lowery and Daniel Young. Saucedo (Loss, 5-8) worked five innings in all, striking out five while allowing five hits, four runs, two walks and four hit batsmen. The 19-year-old Gohara (Win, 3-0), believed to be 6-foot-3, 280 pounds, countered with seven strikeouts, surrendering only solo tallies in the first, second and sixth innings. Relievers Spencer Herrmann and Joey Strain took over from there, with Strain recording the final five outs in perfect order for his eighth save. In defeat, Jake Thomas went 2-for-4 with an RBI triple; Andrew Guillotte went 1-for-3 with a single, walk and a run scored; Connor Panas extended his on-base streak to 17 games with an RBI single; and Dan Lietz fired three scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out three. The Lugnuts next welcome the Kane County Cougars to Cooley Law School Stadium, opening the three-game series at 7:05 p.m. Saturday on Pure Michigan Night presented by Farm Bureau Insurance featuring postgame LAFCU Fireworks! Touted 19-year-old Justin Maese (0-0, 6.00) makes his Lugnuts home debut, opposed by Kane County right-hander Jose Almonte (0-2, 5.19). Kings Platinum Arencibia 1) Francisco Rios: Rios got torched for 7 earned runs in 4.1 innings.
  22. Saturday, July 23 2016 http://i.imgur.com/KuQH0jc.png http://i.imgur.com/6SPKNjY.png http://i.imgur.com/bMsLT88.png An energized and enthusiastic sold out Star Wars Night crowd were treated to a game on the field that came down to the very last play…Unfortunately for the Herd, that last play was an out. Domonic Brown was thrown out at the plate on A.J. Jimenez's infield single as the Bisons fell one run short in a 2-1 defeat to the Gwinnett Braves in front of 17,600 on Saturday night at Coca-Cola Field. It's the club's fourth consecutive defeat and puts them in danger of being swept at home by the Braves for the third straight year. Gwinnett has now won 12 straight games in Western New York, dating back to June of 2013. Brown attempted to catch the Braves napping in the ninth after Gwinnett had broken the 1-1 tie in the top half of the inning. The right fielder lined his second double of the game to left to lead off the frame, but could not advance on Andy Burns' grounder to third or Matt Dominguez's fly to shallow right. Now with two outs, catcher A.J. Jimenez chopped a slow roller to the right side. Gwinnett second baseman Omar Infante was shaded up the middle, and by the time he ranged far enough to his left to field the ball, Jimenez had beat out the play for a single. Alertly, Braves veteran first baseman Reid Brignac turned around in time to see Brown trying to take the extra base. Briagnac's throw home was in plenty of time for catcher Michael McKenry to apply the tag for the final out of the game. Gwinnett's game-winning run in the ninth didn't come without some dispute from the Bisons dugout. The Herd thought Ben Rowen had caught Rio Ruiz looking on a 1-2 delivery on the outside corner but the pitch was called a ball. Three pitches later, Ruiz singled home pinch runner Matt Lipka. Before the next batter came to the plate, Bisons manger Gary Allenson was ejected for voicing his displeasure of the non-call. Drew Hutchison started for the Bisons and allowed just one run on four hits over six innings of work. Buffalo scored their lone run in the eighth inning on Dalton Pompey's sacrifice fly. Jose Bautista picked up his first hit with the Herd in the eighth when he singled with two outs. He finished the game 1-4. BISONS NOTES: Ben Rowen came no in the eighth inning and stranded an inherited runner. He has now allowed just two of 24 inherited runners to score this year…The Bisons had doubles in four straight innings from the second through the fifth but couldn't push any of the runners around…Former Bisons' pitcher Roberto Hernandez started for Gwinnett and pitched five innings of five-hit shutout baseball. He asked for his release from the Blue Jays on July 3. http://i.imgur.com/454EpzE.png http://i.imgur.com/hktCkVG.png http://i.imgur.com/adCKqwx.png http://i.imgur.com/8Dfe5xj.png http://i.imgur.com/Ah61oHr.png http://i.imgur.com/UVMBdaM.png http://i.imgur.com/ZN7YCf4.png http://i.imgur.com/w4azU38.png http://i.imgur.com/j0FtWhU.png http://i.imgur.com/J9PxZbU.png LANSING, Mich. - The Kane County Cougars (10-19, 43-56) stranded 15 runners through the first nine innings before defeating the Lansing Lugnuts (16-13, 52-47) in the eleventh inning, 3-2, on a Matt Railey sacrifice fly before a Saturday night crowd of 7,151 at Cooley Law School Stadium. The Cougars amassed 21 base runners on one error, three walks and 17 base hits - the last a leadoff triple by Austin Byler to open the eleventh inning against reliever Ryan Cook (Loss, 1-6). Railey, who entered the game as a pinch-runner for DH Trevor Mitsui in the ninth, followed with a deep fly to left-center, easily plating Byler for the decisive run. The win did not come easily for the visitors. In the bottom of the eleventh, Juan Kelly (3-for-4, double, RBI, walk) led off with a single to right field. One out later, Justin Atkinson (2-for-5) dropped a bloop double down the right field line to put the tying and winning runs in scoring position. But Hector Hernandez (Win, 1-0) set down Ryan Hissey on a bouncer to short, the runners forced to hold their positions, and Keegan Long (Save, 6) ended the game by inducing Ryan Metzler to fly out to right. The Lugnuts' record fell to 2-8 in the second half against the Western Division. Starter Justin Maese weaved through constant trouble in five innings, allowing ten hits and a walk but just one first-inning run. Lansing grabbed a 2-1 lead in the third inning, thanks to a solo home run from Andrew Guillotte and an RBI double from Kelly. Kane County tied the score in the seventh on a Joey Armstrong RBI double off Kirby Snead, and the battle of bullpens commenced. In the loss, Lansing right fielder Connor Panas went 0-for-5, ending his 17-game on-base streak. The second game of the three-game series will be held at 2:05 p.m. Sunday, featuring Lansing Lugnuts right-hander Jordan Romano (1-1, 1.09) opposite Kane County Cougars lefty Emilio Vargas (1-4, 4.83). It's Princesses and Pirates Day at Cooley Law School Stadium, a special Kids Day presented by Delta Dental! Play Catch on the Field before the game and Kids Run the Bases after the game.
