Well, if they really think Martin isn't as good as industry consensus, then this was the time to trade him. If he has another no power year next season his value will be shot. I say this realizing that the return (Berrios) is another question altogether.

An overpay in prospects but I am excited to watch Berrios. He's not an ace, but a good pitcher, one with a lot of energy. Should be really fun down the stretch.

They have whiffed on almost all of their high picks in the last decade. 2011 - Zibanajed, Stefan Noesen, Matt Puempel, Shane Prince 2012 - Cody Ceci 2013 - Curtis Lazar 2014 - Andreas Englund 2015 - Chabot, White, Gabriel Gagne, Chlapik 2016 - Logan Brown, Jonathen Dahlen 2017 - Shane Bowers, Alex Formenton 2018 - Brady Tkachuk, Jacob Bernard Docker, Jonny Tychonik 2019 - Lassi Thomson, Shane Pinto 2020 - Tim Stutzle, Jake Sanderson, Ridly Greg, Roby Jarventie, Tyler Kleven, Egor Sokolov 2021 - Tyler Boucher, Ostapchuk, Roger Pretty much everyone here is garbage outside of them picking at the very top of the draft (Tkachuk and Stuetzle). I mean you can definitely give them credit for some picks but I would not go as far to say they have drafted well. They have been drafting big lugs these last two years who probably aren't good at hockey, which we have years of evidence to suggest not to do.
