  1. I foresee the Cubs bullpen blowing many games this year.
  2. Norris was a Brewer as well. Certainly they know him well
  3. Norris pops out of his van in the woods to bring joy to all the kids on opening day
  4. At the time he had struckout 4 in a row
  5. Hoerner off Burnes? Lol
  6. Burnes has arrived
  7. Hendricks, on the other hand..
  8. Burnes doesn't have it today
  9. Welcome to the MLB Suzuki Here's Corbin Burnes.
  10. You know it's baseball season when BTS is frothing at the mouth over a soft tossing crafty starter on the mound
  11. And we are off!
  12. Brett Lawrie esque
  13. Not really sure how to feel about this.
  14. I trust we are all taking tomorrow off work to watch the big games.
  15. Cody Bellinger wraps up spring training: 139/162/139, 18K, 1BB in 36 AB I'm sure he's just working out the kinks. According to baseball reference, the average quality of pitchers he faced was 7.1/10, or AA level.
  16. His first contract was somehow even worse. 6/36 from 2017-22 with a 2023 club option. So, he will finish his age 34 or 35 season with $186 million in career earnings. How much money has he left on the table as a 3-time 6+ fWAR player? 300+ million?
  17. Pretty much what I think too. It's just very average. Not good but not terrible. They will need some health luck and prospect breakouts to contend. Skubal has looked good this spring with 21K and 3BB in 13.2 IP. Probably not a playoff team this year but there is a path to them contending soon if things break right. Expanded playoffs will help too.
  18. It seems like they are going for it somewhat. - Baez, Rodriguez, Pineda signings - Torkelson and Greene coming up - Meadows trade. They look like an average team to me.. Quality players around the diamond but no stars. They will need some elite players if they want to compete. The Central Division is pretty wide open though. Honestly, I like what they are doing compared to Oakland or Cinci. Quietly have made some adds to supplement their young players coming up. Not saying this trade was smart by any means but I can respect that they are going for it. Paredes was/is a good prospect but has struggled at the MLB level and isn't a sure thing to meet those projections. I could see the Tigers winning 78-82 games and if they are in the hunt at the deadline, make some additions to try and compete.
  19. Bird would have stayed with us if we added him to the 40-man roster, but we chose not to do that. When we opted not to add him to the 40-man he chose to opt out of his minor league deal and sign with the Yankees. I am pretty sure this is what happened. Seems like we just liked GK more.
  20. Bird signed with the Yankees
  21. Austin Meadows to the Tigers for Isaac Paredes and a draft pick
  22. That tweet was posted by Gideon Turk. He's trolling and it's not true.
  23. Yes, I'm pretty sure this has happened before. Not saying that's what happened here just saying it as a possibility. I'm on the fence here. Agree with Grant that it could be Bird exercising his outclause as we declined to add him to the roster.
  24. This could be true, but it could have been a mutual decision out of respect to Bird knowing that he could get a better opportunity elsewhere?
