Does anyone know what the incentives are for teams to promote top prospects? Looks like Bobby Witt Jr, Julio Rodriguez, Hunter Greene among others are going to make their teams out of camp. This is just refreshing to see. The best prospects should be able to break spring training with their organizations if they are ready.

He barely has any service time and was looking at ~5 years more of team control, which isn't guaranteed, especially for a reliever. Now he gets guaranteed money and can cash in when he reaches free agency. He also only signed for 125k as an international free agent so this is his first chance to cash in.

Grichuk will play every day with the Rockies, possibly in a good spot in the lineup and launch a bunch of dingers in Coors. I don't feel bad because that's probably the best thing for his career possible. Will be guaranteed CF spot with Blackmon and Bryant manning the corners

The Rangers had one of the most bizarre offseasons in recent memory. They sold out for position players but still have one of the worst pitching staffs in the league. Will likely be a frustrating team to play against. They won't be good but they are annoyingly flawed.

They would need some breakouts, I think. Like Kevin Smith becoming an impact hitter would help. Pache reaching 100 wRC+ with his defense. And a few others like Murphy and Laureano hitting above their projections.
