    Thole hasn't had the results but that's 14-15 pitches in two at bats, that's solid.

    I think a lot of Smoak's strikeouts are a timing issue. We know that he's a mid to high 20% K-rate guy but when you don't get consistent playing time you can't get your timing down to get your swing started appropriately. Will be interesting to see if Gibby forces the platoon now.

    Watching Vazquez catch is a treat, he's so damn smooth behind the plate.

    I'd like to see Smoak playing against all RHP. Cola DFAd, Burns added to the 40 and called up and Pompey replacing Carrera. Pompey plays once a week in CF, twice in LF and against LHP in RF with Bautista or EE playing 1B and DHing. Burns adds corner IF and 2b depth if JD needs to DH for a few games again.

    I really have no issues with Saunders playing 4/7 games and getting time off to keep him healthy at this point in the year. I really do dislike seeing Carrera being the guy replacing him.

    The Rogers Centre and the SkyDome in my mind are two distinct parks. Rogers has put a tonne of money into upgrading what the SkyDome was both interior visually (repaint, covering concrete, new seats, removing windows), add the dirt infield and probably a new dome covering in the next few seasons to allow the name Roger's Centre. People need to stop living in the past, yes the SkyDome was a better name, but it's not the same park anymore.

    Yeah I just noticed Spankys reply. I've spent too much time on reddit's /r/torontobluejays and the frustration of dealing with the bandwaggoners there is bleeding through.

    Kotchman at 1B and Montero is the DH. Andy Burns or Matt Dominguez at 3rd, Burns or Adams at 2nd and Mier at SS. With Brown, Ceciliani and Pompey in the OF.

    How does that look dangerous to you? You're a hundred plus feet away from the field, you cannot see the dirt and turf area touch one another. The turf is under the dirt by 3+ inches and this style of field is common in Asia where I imagine the Jays organization did their due diligence to make sure that this is as safe as the previous field.

    I'm thinking Shatkins might want positional versatility over a DH who can't play the field and can only hit LHP.

    If Cola struggles for another 3-4 weeks and finally gets sent down who replaces him is the big question for me. I don't think they'd use Pompey or Lake, wonder if they'd run Andy Burns.

    Looked good, hasn't left much if anything over the middle of the plate, painting the four corners. No walks and 2Ks so far.

    Cola has looked horrendous this year (including the spring), has no concept at all of the strikezone. I know Smoak didn't look good yesterday but at least during Spring Training he was able to work counts, take his walks, limit the Ks and hit for some power.

    These guys are maybe adding 3-4lbs of muscle but 20-25lbs in general. Schwarzenegger's biggest muscle gain in a year was ~25lbs.

    Guys on mlbradio thought it was a s*** call because if Bautista slid with his feet where his hands were it's still a legal slide. This was safer for all parties involved.

    I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt at the moment. Adding that much mass might actually let his mechanics, timing and such line up better.

    I'd feel a lot more comfortable if Stroman was getting that K-rate into the mid 7s like Gray does or like Doc did when he was the elite of the elite.

    That's how Cola has looked all f***ing spring as well.

    I said this earlier in the thread but I'm going to assume you didn't read it. Morales replaces Loup in the depth chart, if Loup wasn't injured no one in the Venditte, Tepera, Girodo, etc. pile is even in the discussion to make this team out of camp. This is a better move because now you have Venditte and company in AAA keeping depth for injury and performance reasons. This isn't hard to grasp and the fact that you're unable to come to that conclusion by yourself makes me feel bad for you.
