    NBA Thread

this is why I can't watch basketball. Momentum is huge in this game and raises my blood pressure.
  2. I had no problem with the deal. At the time we had great pitching depth. I think we overpaid a bit, but not enough for me to freak out and make a big deal about it. I'm not a armchair GM so I'm not going to second guess after the fact. If I had to do the deal I'd do it again.
  3. god damnit angrioter I'm browsing this site at work >
  4. Oh yeah trust me I've did a lot of background reading on several articles and browsed a lot @ bodybuilding awhile back. I even had a personal trainer for my 1st 3 months just to get the ball rolling. I split my week in three workout days with each day focusing one area. Arm day (tri/bi/shoulder), chest/back and leg day. As for specific exercises, that really changes day by day and of course due to availability at the gym. But I guess I need to start to pay attention to that more due to iso/compound exercises.
  5. funny you should mention that - I'm terrible at bench press. I don't know what is wrong but I always struggle with it. I can do a 35x10 for 3 sets for the dumbell shoulder press, but for the bench press with a bar I haven't been able to progress past benching 95 pounds. In fact my last session I started off with my 35x10x3 and then after doing three sets of back exercises I tried to do a bench press of 95 and I couldn't finish 2 sets. My very last rep I actually struggled to put the bar on the rack and I felt like I was going to drop the whole thing on my chest. I don't know what's wrong - my form (though I don't think it's out of the ordinary), maybe my muscles are fatigued from the previous exercises, maybe my triceps are still sore from arm day..
  6. I dunno, I guess I just picked an arbitrary point to start with. I could always try heavier with low reps, but it almost feels like I'm not improving anything since I don't feel the burn.
  7. cool, never thought of it like that. 9 reps at 40 may be a bit too much for me initially, I might start to break at 6-7, but I guess I'll experiment next week.
  8. Yeah I've actually hit a plateau for quite awhile now, and I've been aware of it and trying to fix it gradually. When I do dumbell presses for example I started out with 25's, and now I'm on 35's for a few months now. Only 10 reps. Would you consider increasing to 40's and only doing 5 reps as an increase? I really try to push myself harder each session but my muscles just can't deal with the increase and I have to end up doing drop sets
  9. Thanks for the tips guys. I guess we have a month left in the winter so I can bulk a bit more and eat some of this: http://www.manhattansburger.com/docs/Sides%20Menu%20-%20BAC%202014%20V3.jpg
  10. is bulking/cutting a seasonal thing ? Eating a ton in the winter and losing weight in the spring to look great in the summer? My big worry is that when I start losing weight, I'll lose a bunch of fat and all my muscle gains. But I guess thats unavoidable?
  11. but if I eat less food, how will I be able to supply the nutrients to build muscle? Or should I just focus on consuming the appropriate protein amount for me to build muscle while trying to make sure the total calorie intake is less than what I should have in a day (3500 I think?)
  12. lol how did we end up here. anyway, I'm too lazy to google this so since I'm here.. what if I want to lose fat but gain/maintain muscle at the same time? I've been working out for 2 years now, and it's obvious I've gained muscle, but I can't seem to get rid of that belly fat that is hiding all my abs. I've recently started running the eliptical, burning about 600 calories per week ( I can do more) but I feel like I'm going nowhere. Perhaps my diet is the culprit
  13. I was gonna bash on you hurl but then I read the rest of your sentence FIP looks good. He'll come cheap. It'll definitely destroy the Jays overall attractiveness metric, though.
  14. Well Jeff Sullivan wrote both of them Maybe he's got a pro-Jays bias, like Morosi for fox!
  15. I think Beest doesn't give any f***s now. The org doesn't think highly of him anymore and he now has a free pass until the end of the season.
  16. yeah sorry derp, typo - should be 2009. on that note, is this Cecil's last arbitration year?
  17. Well Trout defensively has been declining three years in a row I think? And I think his base running and speed in general has gone down cause he's a bit more chunky now. I'm hoping that, coupled with Donaldson hitting in a hitter's park will boost him over.
  18. You know at that price, I think Casey just didn't want to come back to the Jays. Nats are poised to win the NL East and we treated him like s*** in the 2nd half. Doesn't help that Rogers doesn't have money anymore.
  19. Somewhat related - can anyone post Keith Law's team farm system rankings? We're 19th.
  20. That's not enough proof he's a Jay. You can just photoshop s*** on that depth chart. I still can't believe, and don't believe, he's a Jay.
  21. pls give more predictions. Machado out with torn meniscus? Sandoval done for the season with severe goat? Donaldson outperforms Trout in war??
  22. If we're talking about time on the big league club, that would be Bautista. He was here in 2008. Cecil & E5 have been here since 2008.
  23. based on a brief reading of the scouting report, he's in the mould of Chris Capuano - 4th starter-type. Seems like it's a fair deal.
  24. Never heard of that. Who is Dave Adams, how would he get this type of info? ...Maybe Pillar is spreading rumors so he can win the job
  25. you're new here, you've seen nothing yet.
