The fact that Rogers was IP there throwing beside Janssen made my brain hurt. I know what goby was thinking, if the jays tack on a run or two, he'd use Rogers instead of Janssen... But... Still... Rogers in a game here is like running up the white flag.

Maybe Farrell wants keep that "uncomfortable offense" thing going. Nobody would suspect if Idid something completely stupid and gave away another out for two guys who aren't hitting their weight! I R JeeNyus!

Gave away one of just 6 outs left to move not even the tying run into scoring position for the bottom of the lineup... That's baffling. I bet there will be a fangraphs article tomorrow on these bunts from Farrell tonight.

And it's not even the heart of the order.... Walking the bottom third of the lineup is just inexcusable.

Point is, there's not a manager in baseball that would go to his pen with a 5 run lead starting the 6th inning when his pitcher wasn't near his pitch limit. We all know Happ is a gas can waiting to happen, but you have to try to get everything you can out of your starter with a 5 run lead.

Happ shouldn't even be in the rotation. He can't use the pen after 5 in every game, especially with a 5 run lead.

That's kind of the relievers job... Sure some of them seem to perform better starting a inning, but if you can't strand base runners more often than not, you don't really belong in the pen.
