  1. Rivera has been absolutely awful with sending runners this year.
  2. They've got nothing in the minors for Of prospects, they may as well take a flyer on a guy who had even minor success over a tiny time frame in mlb already.
  3. No risk for a team claiming him, he either continues to suck and they do the same thing the jays did, or they might get a few weeks of use out of him while a guy is in the DL.
  4. Pretty sure we just let him have him, something would have been announced by now if there was anything coming back
  5. Well that didn't work out.... Lawrie will go yard here, I can feel it
  6. If they pull him off waivers I'm pretty sure they have to put him back on the roster. They can't just keep running down the list just to keep the player. Once they've made the choice to place him on waivers and he's claimed, only one of three things can happen. He gets traded for something, he gets taken off waivers and placed back on the roster, or they don't work out a trade and just let him go to the claiming team go nothing.
  7. First pitch has been served. Picking locked for tonight.
  8. I see what you're saying, but that was AA's intent the entire time to keep waiting and waiting. When you play the waiting game with FAs, you can't tell them they only have a short time to sign after the offer when you've waited the entire offseason to even make an offer. It holds no weight.
  9. It's not quite that simple. From all reports, Santana had already agreed to sign with the Jays and was practically at the airport to go take his physical when Medlen got hurt and the Braves jumped in and offered basically the same deal that he immediately jumped at and left the Jays hanging. It tells me Santana had literally no other offers except for the Jays and he really didn't want to be there.
  10. I think no matter what happens, as long as it's not a blowout loss.... Even if they lose a nailbiter, they will have put the league on notice. The Raptors are no longer a pushover, they'll be looking to add top end talent and that top end talent may actually start viewing The North as a spot they can go, make the playoffs for multiple years to come and have a decent shot at a ring down the road.
  11. Point values are on the first page of the thread
  12. 13. He should be worried about getting killed in a trade, since that's exactly what's happened on almost every one of his trades starting with Napoli. There's been a couple of shrewd moves, like the trade for Olivo to get the comp pick under the old system, and the Lincoln deal last year, but nearly every other trade since the Napoli deal have been full derp.
  14. Unless his last name is Kimbrell or Chapman
  15. Were I Gibbons, I'd miss having the opportunity to pick guys to play for me that I wanted, rather than crappy scrubs with no options that AA just can't bear to part with.
  16. I'd much rather see hits against than a parade of walks, at least a ball in play has a chance to be caught. One thing I've noticed recently, a lot of grounders are going up the middle and Reyes is really shaded far towards 3b.... I really wonder if the jays are a bit behind on defensive positioning in cases where they aren't facing a guy that demands a dramatic shift.
  17. Really don't think Sanchez is ready... But Stroman should be a no brainer at this point.
  18. Condensed version, trade everyone that isn't Lawrie or Hutchison.
  19. I don't have a problem with him having the green light there, I have problem with him choosing to use it on the pitch that he did, it was a borderline strike that he should have taken
