  1. Gimme Edwin, I think he'll go on a bit of a streak now
  2. Me too, I pick the guys on the day before they hit one....
  3. Not exactly a banner day for him ...
  4. Consider the source of the article. Boswell is a noted "pull s*** out of ass to grab headlines" guy. Harper's rep is the opposite, not knowing when to slow down... Hence slamming into walls and getting himself hurt just to get a fly ball. Maybe he didn't run one out, that's definitely not his MO.
  5. I dunno, I used to the type of fan who just blindly cheered for every player because, like bounceyballs said, they were my team and that's what you do. But after being exposed to Sabr and understanding what it's about and how much deeper it goes into a players value and contributions to the team's success, it's hard to be excited about a player like Goins. A purely one-dimensional defense only player is valuable even with league average offensive contributions, but Goins is nowhere near league average and really hasn't shown anything to make me believe there a whole lot more there in his bat. He's a guy that should be coming in late and close ball games for defense upgrades, or just to give a guy the occasional day off and that's about it.
  6. Yeah I was looking there but couldn't find the right area I guess. Thanks
  7. What site are you looking at fatcow?
  8. I don't have 2013 numbers right in front of me here but rally it doesn't fluctuate that much from year to year. So if babip on grounders, including bunts is .230, that means 77% of grounders, all across baseball are converted to outs.
  9. If you mean the average babip on ground balls excluding bunts it was .226 in 2012. Including bunts .230 Right now Gojns babip on grounders is .174 in 23 AB. With 1 more single in his current 23 AB he'd be at .217. If you really want to go strictly by the numbers, he's been 1 hit "unlucky" on ground balls.
  10. Carrasco has been terrible every start this year, now suddenly remembers how to throw strikes... Well not terrible, but shaky
  11. I don't like that he's using all his pitches in the first inning, come the second and third time through the order it's helpful to throw something they haven't seen yet. Good results so far
  12. Friggin hell, already 9 pitches to the first hitter...
  13. No doubt, they didn't deserve to win the game, but that doesn't excuse the officials from being terrible
  14. It really is worse than umpiring in baseball where veterans pitchers get strikes over rookies... You can never convince me that a basket ball team didn't commit a single foul in the 4th quarter of a playoff game. It just doesn't happen. If you want to put the whistles away and only call the wildly obvious ones...fine, but put them away for both teams.
  15. And while you can't blame the refs, not calling a single foul on Brooklyn in the entire 4th quarter is just terrible. You could probably count on 1 hand in all of nba history the # of games in the playoffs had no fouls in the 4th quarter on a team.
  16. Can't say it really wasn't all that unexpected, the Raps are very inexperienced in playoff basketball which is a different beast. I only saw the second half but it looked like they were really tense... Maybe they come back in game 2 a little more confident.
  17. Wow, no fouls on Brooklyn the entire 4th quarter.... Really?
  18. Just tuned in for the second half here, Brooklyn getting all the calls so far, all ball block on Garnett and he goes to the line for two... Raps look really tense.
  19. I'm sort of surprised by that since he went with Wagner in the 8th last night after both Cecil and Delabar ... thought maybe he'd tab Wagner for the save chance. But when you look at the Left handed heaviness of the Cleveland lineup outside of their switch hitters, Loup is a fine choice. I just hope today isn't one of those Buerhle blowup days where he gets beat up. He's due for a stinker.
  20. I agree if he's dominating that much that it's clear he's not being challenged, it would open a spot to maybe allow another of the logjam of SS starters to jump to Lansing with a Lansing veteran up to Dunedin
  21. April 19th, going to go with Francisco, just because I don't think they'll have a great scouting report and he hits one 450+ feet. Then strikes out the rest of the game. Jays hit first HR
  22. And you can continue to be a clueless douche who amounts to nothing more than a mindless cheerleader. Try contributing to real baseball conversation.
  23. Changing up my pick, I'll go with Jose Bautista
