  1. I don't think there's enough scotch to sacrifice for that to happen.
  2. Aha! Jobu likes Glenfiddich 18 year single malt. Noted for future sacrifices

    Early lead for Edmonton
  4. Well, I'm out of chickens, but I can sacrifice a shot of scotch for Jobu this time.
  5. Hard to believe this once vaunted offensive lineup has been reduced to Devon Travis laying down sacrifice bunts to let Darwin Barney and Luke Maile try to hit a guy in.
  6. I think that's the main criticism of his swing though. That his hands start forward with his lead shoulder pointed at the pitcher, then as he goes into the leg kick, the hands come pretty far back, the lead shoulder closes off, then everything flies forward and open again. Lots of hand movement throughout the whole process but his timing/bat speed/hand eye get the bat where it needs to be anyways. The concern is that noisy process won't work against higher level pitching. And really, there's no way to know until he gets there. But you're right in that it hasn't failed so far, so he's got no reason to make changes.

So if the Capitals win. ... we have a Nations' Capitals ECF. Would love to see a Trump/Trudeau bet....loser of the series has his head shaved.
  8. I believe it's based on the count. He does the leg kick until he's at 2 strikes, then changes to the tap/twist. I think.
  9. No issues with him at all. He pitched better than anyone likely thought he would. Getting almost through 6 with 2 earned runs against is about as best case scenario as you could ask of him.
  10. Game 33: Tuesday vs The Cleveland Indians Bautista (2 Pts)- Morales (3 pts)- TholesWeirdEye Smoak (5 Pts)- Pearce (5 Pts)-o2 Travis (6 Pts)- Pillar (7 Pts)- Barney (9 Pts)- Carerra (9 Pts)- Goins (9 Pts)- Coghlan (6 Pts)- LTBF, johnhavok Maile (9 Pts) Ohlman (9 Pts) - Pendleton, Jonn Bench (10 Pts)
  11. I get it. I personally think the Raps are stuck with what they are because they hitched themselves to the wrong player and by signing him to the max deal he's effectively untradeable. Any hope of getting to the next level will have to be the result of Derozan suddenly transforming his entire game into something that isn't 1 dimensional, or a Masai Ujiri ninja move that nobody sees coming to land legit 3rd scoring threat that isn't a uselss tit on defense. Neither of those are very likely. I get your point that watching a 50 win regular season team is better than watching a bottom feeder, but we've seen the 50 win TV show already and we can see its not going anywhere.
  12. That's the whole game of Derozan though, pull up mid range jumpers and getting to the free throw line. He doesn't make things happen, he just shoots after he's been freed up from screens. Sure there the occasional drive and dunk, but far more often than not it's just a s***** long range 2 after the shot clock is nearly gone.
  13. Derozan will be never be the man on a championship team. He's not elite no matter what anyone says by pointing to his PPG. The Raps are a very good team. But they need to take the next step to being great and they simply cant do that with Derozan as the focal point of the offense. He doesn't have elite skill where you need it in the NBA today. And if he can't be part of taking the next step, the only 2 choices you have are take a step back (not saying tank for #1) or do the same thing over and over again and hope for a better result. There's a lot of dead weight on the team that needs to be shed as well. JV, Caroll and the like.
  14. Nice to see the Raps playing inspired ball facing elimination. Only down by 12 at the half.
  15. I'd love to know where this belief that he's a below average defensive is rooted. He's not elite or great by any stretch either but he's solid average easily.
  16. Yup. Too bad most of my other picks are dogf***ing
  17. I'll take Russell Martin for sunday
  18. Alford injury? odd to see a guy replaced in a 7 inning game
  19. It wouldn't be the worst story around to see Ottawa in the finals for Canada's 150th B-day
