  1. I've tried reading your posts, but found I would have to lose about 50 IQ points for them to make sense.
  2. Even if he doesn't get drafted and some team signs him as an undated FA... can you imagine the locker room aura with him around? Any player with kids would never ... ever give him the time of day. Talent or not the poison his situation could control in the locker room would be incredibly difficult to manage. Let alone the public backlash... bring your kids to the ballpark! Child molester pitching tonight!
  3. It's always nice when a troll maybe tried to go legit for 1 post and then whines about not being taken seriously. Maybe if 99% of your posts weren't the equivalent of baby vomit mixed with dog s*** this wouldn't be an issue.
  4. Yes, and the point of the system was to ensure that teams had the best chance to sign their own stars instead of watching them all go to LA, New York... wherever the biggest basketball destinations were. But the unintended result has been teams able to go way over the salary cap without penalty and essentially limit 2 or 3 teams in the league to even have the slightest chance at the title. I doubt that was their goal. Understand I'm not arguing against the system, I can just understand why some probably hate it with a passion.
  5. BTS = Ray Rice... anyone have the video?
  6. I think though, we can clearly see that 1 player doesn't make a champion caliber team. Now you need 3 All Stars minimum to win, and 1 of them better be a future HOF talent
  7. It also shines a light on how silly the NBA's contracts are regarding bird rights and the salary cap - though that really depends on how you view a small number of teams being able to build dynasty rosters and basically run an entire decade of NBA greatness.
  8. I wonder if they wait to promote them until after they play in their all star game. Some teams do like to give their kids that exposure. Safe bet though they'll be showing up in the Futures game
  9. Relevant from Fangraphs http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/there-is-urgent-need-for-a-justin-smoak-article/
  10. Yes it's an important difference, but what changed to lead to the improvement? If anyone told me this year Smoak would cut his k rate in half for no apparant reason i would have laughed myself into a coma. I can't think of anyone off the top of my head that was riding a 30+ % K rate and without warning basically cut it in half the following season, not to mention with such a dramatic improvement in ISO, which is wholly unsustainable unless your last name is Bonds, McGwire or Ruth.
  11. His contact rate has increased dramatically this year, resulting (so far) in pretty much halving his strikeout rate. That's really the only meaningful difference I can see in his batted ball profile
  12. Make sure you drop a like on the second comment in this thread.
  13. Legally you could if you a) prove willful intent of lying, and prove financial losses as a result and/or C) suffer mental anguish, embarrasement or humiliation. As an athlete, the only real financial losses could be loss of endorsement or contract dollars if either was terminated as a result of the accusations, or that he couldnt find a new contract because of it after his current one expires. But without provable financial losses, then a civil suit is pretty much useless. The mental anguish, embarrasement or humiliation is also hard to win on since most states have defamation laws that say being accused of a major crime will come with damage to your reputation regardless of whether they are true or not.... so harm to your reputation is presumed. Since she published the accusations on instagram though, she has entered libel territory rather than just slander. States do handle those differently from one another depending in the situation
  14. Can't exactly remember where I got him in the FC... I think he was a throw in in a trade
  15. I know you are but what am I?
  16. Wow. What did they think it hit? There's nothing that low at the Trop. The catwalks are all way higher than that
  17. Liriano, because of the above. Can't really argue any of those points
  18. How dare you suggest such a thing in the middle of his breakout season.
  19. Howell on the DL with shoulder tightness. Can't say thats a bad thing
  20. Sometimes it worth it, sometimes it isn't. In Tepera's case, it's not really worth it. If he happens to be available to spot start in extreme situations, like... if half the starting staff gets cholera... fine.
  21. After this year he'd be 4 seasons removed from being a starter, and wasn't even particularly good at it in the minors. Biagini on the other hand was still a starter when the Jays took him in the rule 5 draft, was trending upwards a starter at AA, and was only used as a pen arm to satisfy his rule 5 requirements. He very likely would have been starting last year at some point had the health of the Jays rotation not been so freakishly good.
  22. Give Gary a break. Math isn't his thing. Neither is baseball, communication, critical thinking or personal hygiene.
  23. Just once I'd like to see one of my throwaway 2,500 dollar picks put up 30+ points
  24. Pham was 20 feet off the base, basically daring him to throw over since the entire world knows Lester has the yips when it comes to throwing to 1st.
