    Raw counting/rate stats don't tell the whole story. He still walked, still didn't strike out, and as Boxcar mentioned, his babip took a nosedive which may just be SSS noise. His power output dipped, but I don't think Smoak is in danger of putting up a .140 ISO for any meaningful length if time. If I recall correctly he missed some games towards the end of August with a leg injury, and probably played through it the rest of the year which could be partially to blame.

    With 3 more club option years for good measure. Could be signed through 2026 if all options are picked up. Option years are 13, 14 and 15 million.

    Biagini, Rowley, Borucki. ... but I think you're looking at a more veteran type of arm. Yeahnit probably wouldn't hurt to have a guy like Garza around to try and help the young guys. Hard to see him signing a pure minor league deal though.

    Yeah, I get the whole best hitter should hit the most theory. It's very logical in its conception. I'm just not sure how much extra value would result from your best hitter hitting more often with nobody on base, or potentially getting walked and not even getting a chance to affect anything
