  1. I have a problem with this you weak ass honky, white bread cracker.
  2. Unless the 1st pick is a potential generational consensus #1 pick, which is virtually never the case in case in baseball, gaining 1 spot isnt something to really be all that happy about. Doubly so given the idiotic nature of bonus pools and how great players are available throughout the first few rounds
  3. No kidding. Tanking is never a good idea in baseball. Not trying to win 100 games is different than tanking though.
  4. Not to say they'd use it often, just in the stats they'd need to cover Shoemakers starts, and depending on how many months Sanchez misses with his fingernail issue.
  5. Weird sets to start the 2nd half though .... looks like they're playing in quicksand. This is also about the time the whistles should all start to favour the losing team
  6. I wonder if this will be the trigger for use of an opener.
  7. Objectively, this sucks.
  8. True, but the skill of being able to consistently miss bats is decidedly more effective than hitters being able to make contact with virtually everything, and hoping the ball goes directly to a defender.
  9. There's also a chance some of those names get extended rather than traded.
  10. Who is Hector Gomez and why should we believe it?
  11. You must be new here. He needs to learn how to be a better professional and teammate. Seriously. Wake up
  12. Hard to say at this point. His sample size is so small in his minor league career so far, but at the same time, those small samples have gotten better each year so far as he progesses up in level. 23 in high A as a hitter isn't atrocious but it's not good either, he's striking out more but also walking more this year ..... again small sample. Babip is near .500 this season which is certainly not sustainable, you might expect it in the mid .300s given his numbers in the past, but .500 is just not gonna continue. Safe bet is no, cuz prospects.....but you don't have to squint very hard to see some potential.
  13. Yeah Maile and Thornton are not speaking the same language here. Both were strikes too yet it's 1-1
  14. No s***. The mirage just hit one thats gonna land in the Sahara
  15. I have 2 diplomas from community college. Pretty sure that's like a few credits away from a doctorate
  16. You're the only person I know that calls sports jerseys, hats etc.... kits. Is it an Asian thing?
  17. Can't argue that. Maybe he needs glasses, or a Cpap machine
  18. Make sure you check out our latest podcast. We decide that Bichette Biggio and Vlad should be called up at the same time. It would the biggest promotion in baseball history
  19. If he retires he loses the contract. He actually has to get cut in order to still get paid. That, or have a career ending injury where he stays on the DL for years like Prince Fielder
  20. Could be. The slider was useless tonight. No break at all
  21. Doesn't count . Hanging breaking ball. Nothing to see here
  22. Holy s***, a Chappy sighting! ,,
  23. Without a doubt yes. This team is better poised to make an impact in this league for an extended period of time thanks to the difficult choices Atkins has had to make. The payroll is flexible as f*** after this season, impact talent is coming through the pipeline for the next 2-3 years minimum, the current team isnt the true dumpster fire that most every rebuilding team is while they are rebuilding, and whichever assets they choose to dump at this year's deadline will only help to kickstart 2020, the first year of what's looking like at least a 7 year competitive window. Anyone who can't see that, isn't looking at this with the right eyes.
  24. There* And you probably shouldn't. You'll undoubtedly notice some flaw in his game that guarantees him as a future bust.
  25. TO be fair, he is having the best PAs in the lineup right now by far. I think the slappy contact hitter is going to become en vogue again here shortly with the high fastball/curveball meta of pitching these days. Everything is a cycle and we'll probably start to to back to watching boring slap singles for a few years again. Not looking forward to it.
