    The way he wrote that first statement almost makes it sounds like he got blown by the guys in bullpen, not BY the bullpen.

    Yeah, like, if his left foot was even 1 foot to the right and on the baseline... no issues. I get the argument a bit that if the throw takes you into the runners path etc etc.... but if a play like this is so close to being a borderline call, then I think you have to err on the side of the runner givne the runners lack of options.

    Maybe. I just dont see the argument on that play. even the guys on MLB tonight were like "he could have slid between the catchers legs... that's a running lane..." and then i turned it off because of the objective stupidity of that argument.

    Even with that the case, I’d rather Zimmer still be in CF and JBJ in RF, than Tapia still in the game defensively. The OF d is now worse, and Teo hit with 2 outs instead of 1. To me, it looks like the wrong series of moves

    I do not understand why Teo wasn’t hitting for Tapia…now he’s hitting for Zimmer, which makes the defense worse, and he’s hitting with 2 outs instead of 1

    If they could morph the 2 players together ... unstoppable. Great eye, great D, good pop.... probably a 5+WAR player

    Yeah, missing by 1 game was rough, especially since the Jays handled their own business and got f***ed over by a god awful pen implosion by the Nationals. However, look at where they were before they went on that 14 game winning streak late in the season and missing by 1 game doesnt seem so bad. Yes, it would be nice to see a sustained winning streak but hell they're currently 16-7 since the world was made right with numbnuts firing. Expecting better than a .696 winning percentage over the rest of the season is pretty unrealistic. The Yankees are only running at .645 and if you remove their last 2 series they lost, were pretty much exactly at .696. Those kind of runs are fewer and further between than Grant going to a game at Fenway.

    Somewhere, Grant is having a coronary with the reality of the Jays picking up an ex member of the BoSox.

    Possibly, but his numbers this year at a higher level are already pretty much equal to his High A numbers from last year, so he's not getting worse. He's just getting challenged by the higher competition and needs to make probably more than 1 adjustment to get back on track. He won't figure out how to hit AA pitching at A+.

    Orelvis completely dumped out of the top 100 is a bit shocking, even though he's not having a barn-burner of a year, he's still 20 at AA, murders baseballs when he does connect, and has a defensive position on the left side of the IF. That's usually at least top 50 worthy from BA. They must be terrified of his hit tool

    Nah. They can both unload on balls with regularity with their loads, so... I don't see the problem.

    I agree with this. I dont miss home plate collisions, and they don't add anything to the game.

    This sucks so much, fouling off all these balls outside the zone just gives Archer no need to throw strikes
