  1. Well there's your first mistake.
  2. We got J.A. Happ, Brandon Lyon, and David Carpenter from the Astros for Francisco Cordero, Ben Francisco, Joe Musgrove, Carlos Perez, David Rollins, Asher Wojciechowski and Kevin Comer.
  3. Simply put, it's virtually impossible to compare players form today to players from 100 years ago. The game, while played under generally the same rules, is completely different. It's not ever really that arguable that todays players are far more highly skilled than players from 100 years ago, in any sport. if time travel was possible and you put Ohtani in 1920 to play baseball (and also made him white) he would hit a HR in probably 75% of his PAs. The velocity they threw back then would be like BP. Same as if you plucked Babe out of 1920 and magically transferred him to 2020, he would strike out so much it would be ridiculous. Then the argument inevitably turns into even more hyptheticals and ends up being a pointless exercise. That doesn't diminish his accomplishments in his own era. Hes still arguably the greatest player of all time. But direct comparing the two is, for the most part, pointless. And lets also not forget that there are near 0 people alive today that have seen both eras and how drastically the game has changed.
  4. Pen management is such a crapshoot when you have the arms the Jays have... they have 1 high end guy (im not gonna call him elite yet, but hes on the high end of the level below elite imo) maybe 3 debateably above average guys (Cimber, Mayza and Garcia) 50 feet of crap, and then the rest of them. I think what you're getting at mostly is that rather than automatically pulling a guy when he's dealing out the pen, run him out again until he gets into trouble. Well, lots can go wrong with that too. At the end of the day, Charlie can only put a guy on the mound, it's up to the pitcher to get the job done. Some days it's hard to get the exact guy you want out there because of 100 different reasons and you have to go the someone that maybe isn't the perfect choice. Also, if a guy is cruising, maybe you still want to take him out at the end of the inning so he's available the next day if needed. Can't always just let guys go until they let a guy on base. all of this is not to excuse Montoyo at all either, just saying that with the lack of swing and miss in the pen in general, some days are just gonna suck.
  5. If there’s a catcher on the block, it’s probably not Kirk. Can never say for sure, but…taking advantage of his young fat years when it won’t be as big of a problem and then either trading him when he’s 28 or 29 before he rolls into free agency would be fine.
  6. Puff puff pass. You need to pass the weed, not smoke it all yourself
  7. Great way to get this done. Send out the hitting coach, whos pretty much useless on the bench during the game anyways, call him a ********** and call it a day.
  8. Tapia is the anti-Espinal ..... Espy hitting like crap, still amazing D and contributing well into the positive for wins. Tapia, hits well for a month, still plays garbage D and still below replacement level. Cut bait with this clown already. I'd rather run Zimmer out there 100% of the time Tapia is being played right now.
  9. almost 6 runs of impact... absolute abomination
  10. Debatable. Giving away 33% of your remaining outs for a very marginal increase in run expectancy does not generally make sense.
  11. The Jays are like that classic car that you see driving down the street. Looks amazing on the outside, but inside there’s always something that isn’t working right causing it to sputter. Yesterday was the pen, day before was the SP…offense is completely hit or miss right now….
  12. If this umps consistency rating is higher than 70% I’ll be shocked
  13. You’re not wrong. The pen and bench need some pretty big additions down the stretch
  14. That was just the new pitch comm button for “I need you to hit the bull”
  15. Romano is so very close to a black every pitch with runners on it’s insane
  16. I have like 17 jokes for this.are we still doing phrasing?
  17. They should put a Red Cross on Springer’s jersey giveaway, just to make it extra authentic
  18. Easy one though, Tapia is kinda fast, Ruiz is slow to the plate, noodle armed catcher = steal
  19. This ump is just trolling now, this is atrocious
