  1. Andruw jones and matt holidays kids going 1 and 2 accomplished that for me.
  2. Connor Prielipp would be a nice get. Before his arm injury he was being talked about as a potential #1 pick this year. Big lefties with wipeout sliders are fun
  3. Porter still available also, his college commit must be strong
  4. Romano brought the good slider today
  5. Yeah. They say it’s a freakish ability to get the bat to the ball, especially high fastballs (paraphrasing Fangraphs) with very little power, but a viable SS.
  6. Best way to stay out of the DP for sure
  7. 100.5 mph throw from SS to first.
  8. You and I have very different definitions of hot.
  9. For a guy who was never even close to being ranked in the top 30 Jays prospects…or even Bostons when he was first signed…to be a 3WAR everyday guy heading to the all star game is pretty cool.
  10. These numbers are very Espinal-esque from when he was in the minors. His glove will need to be good to get a shot at the majors. In his favour though he’s playing his age 21 season at Advanced A, whereas Espy was 23 at the Advanced A level before getting a late season promotion to AA, hitting a combined .297/.356/.444 - that was the year he was traded to the Jays.
  11. I dont really blame him for wanting a higher AAV. Hell, his next arb contract will likely be 25 million and 30+ for the last one... so settling for less than 30m AAV is indeed settling for below market value AAV. But .... 440million dollars. Part of me hopes he breaks his leg tomorrow and he's out of baseball so he can live the rest of his life knowing he turned down 440 million dollars. But that's mean.... so I hope he gets whatever he wants. This is the exact kind of player that should be earning way more money early in his career rather than playing for peanuts for years 1-3 or 4.
  12. Cmon Springer, give it a ride
  13. excellent PA from Jansen. those were really close
  14. damn, chappy missing these meatballs.
  15. 62nd percentile footspeed. Jansen is faster than most think, especially for a catcher.
  16. Excellent slide, he was safe
  17. Is there a crater where that ball hit into the ground?
  18. Good enough for at least the long man in the pen, but basically a fastball/chageup guy and neither is raelly a plus offering. HIs slider is still a big work in progress and definitely needs it if he wants to be a starter.
  19. Special Advisor to the President of Baseball Operations with the San Francisco Giants So, gives good handjobs under the desk I guess. But, we cant say that Ricciardi was a complete failure. He did Hire John Gibbons into the org and eventually as the Manager.
  20. I'm very glad the clip stopped before the orgy.
  21. What was the contract offer? 12/440 ? Edit, nvm, it was 15/440, average of 29.3 million per year. I dont get how anyone can turn that down.
  22. Espinal is the perfect guy to be hitting 8th or 9th. Generally has good PAs, sees a lot of pitches, makes the pitcher work and makes contact. Not a real power threat despite his offseason muscle gain. Legit plus D. He's turned himself into a viable MLB starter and, in the Jays favour, the kind of guy who will provide 3-4 WAR over a full season, but get paid like a scrub in arbitration since most of his value is tied to defense. But in no way should he be an All Star this season. Just... no.
  23. Sure, and both wouldn’t be used in in a possible high leverage situation, so…no real problem. That’s exactly where Banda and Richards should be pitching right now.
