Espinal is the perfect guy to be hitting 8th or 9th. Generally has good PAs, sees a lot of pitches, makes the pitcher work and makes contact. Not a real power threat despite his offseason muscle gain. Legit plus D. He's turned himself into a viable MLB starter and, in the Jays favour, the kind of guy who will provide 3-4 WAR over a full season, but get paid like a scrub in arbitration since most of his value is tied to defense.
But in no way should he be an All Star this season. Just... no.
