  1. Well there's plenty of moves to be had for them. Tons of money to spend if they want to on some really good players available in FA. In fact, they only have just over 8 million in guaranteed contracts for next season and more than 5 million of that is Chris Davis. John Means is their only guaranteed contract on their roster at 2.75m
  2. Yeah, and picking up his 2.75 million option is a no-brainer in my books.
  3. Teo and Jansen honestly. With arb raises for Bo (arb2), Vlad(arb2), Romano (Arb 1) .. not to mention the other pen arms that will be need raises (Cimber, Mayza)....Espinal is 1st arb though since he qualified as Super 2 - luckily will be cheap as hell since he sucks at all the things that matter in aribitration. There's some punting candidates of course that will save some money like Tapia, Thornton, Zimmer - kind of on the fence about RIchards. Biggio will likely be retained and luckily wont be expensive. Jays are in a pretty good spot with the only FAs being JBJ, Phelps and Stripling. If Atkins could somehow find a way to get out from under Kikuchi and re-sign Strip... that would be amazing. Doubtful...but stranger things have happened.
  4. My only critique of your thesis is that Kirk should have more value than Moreno. Like, if you were trading Kirk, you’d be wanting a prospect back in Morenos range plus some other lower level lottery ticket. Kirk is the known quantity, Moreno still has question marks
  5. That makes sense, yeah.
  6. Its pretty much the same as a catcher, you can't block the base unless you already have the ball. I havent seen that play so cant comment on whether the ump was right or not Edit: Just watched the play, ump is 100% right. LEg was down and blocking the base well before the ball was in the glove.
  7. I think the ship has sailed on Pearson as a starter though. At this point, just get him out of then pen and let him throw as many bullets as he can before he hits the DL with some rare form of African sleeping sickness or some s***
  8. makes sense, looks his velo was fine eaerlier in the game and they just left him in too long. Gassed out
  9. That fastball down the heart of the plate to Hoskins was 94. Doesn’t strider through 100? Edit, yeah he averages 98.2….him throwing 94 is weird. He not healthy ?
  10. Phillies pitching prospect Corey Phelan just died of cancer at 20. f*** cancer.
  11. Shaun Anderson has selected free agency form the Jays... f***! There goes our bullpen savior.
  12. With the rise in popularity of streaming content, MLB will be making more money by selling the rights to streaming rather than streaming it themselves.
  13. The most surprising thing about this entire inning is that Ryan Goins was on base.
  14. YorDaddy is just on another level right now for sure
  15. Any trade where there's a Nootbar involved is a win. If there's anyone there with the last name of Nougat.... slam dunk, get it done.
  16. You just want to watch the world burn...
  17. Kinda looks Yankee Stadium-ish with the shorter RF and LF lines, than ballooning out from the RF to LF gaps. Hopefully they dont bring the fences in though, I dont want a home park with a joke for HR dimensions.
  18. I dont really have a preference from a team likability standpoint, but Id say Houston just so all the whiney crybabies who still carry on about their cheating a few years ago... their salty tears would be tasty.
  19. From baseball savant. Sprint Speed is Statcast’s foot speed metric, defined as “feet per second in a player’s fastest one-second window” on individual plays. For a player’s seasonal average, the following two types of plays currently qualify for inclusion in Sprint Speed. The best of these runs, approximately two-thirds, are averaged for a player’s seasonal average. * Runs of two bases or more on non-homers, excluding being a runner on second base when an extra base hit happens * Home to first on “topped” or “weakly hit” balls. The Major League average on a "competitive" play is 27 ft/sec, and the competitive range is roughly from 23 ft/sec (poor) to 30 ft/sec (elite). A Bolt is any run above 30ft/sec. A player must have at least 10 competitive runs to qualify for this leaderboard Pretty much only includes only the plays you said about when Vlad runs hard.
  20. Vlad is slow when compared to the average MLB runner which would be 50th percentile. So in the context of MLB, he is slower than most. It’s kinda like saying Tapia sucks at baseball, but the reality is he’s better than the majority of the planets population, just s***** compared to other professionals in MLB.
  21. I read an article about that. Catchers age better after the age of 32 relative to other positions, but that’s largely due to the bar for catchers performances regarding offense being much lower and defense being more important. I concede that If robo umps come into play in the near future, some catchers who get massive value bumps from framing are going to find themselves unemployed sooner rather than later and the offense bar for catchers might go up.
  22. Unfortunately he didnt have enough PAs in 2021 to have a full slate of numbres from savant. Same for 2020 And please understand I'm not saying he's some trash can unworthy of a roster spot or anything. I'm just saying that he needs to get back to his all field approach. Him trying to be more of a pull/power hitter just doesnt make sense to maximize the results of his skillset.
  23. Somehwere in between would be ideal for him yes. a right handed Jeff McNeil, though not as much pop
  24. Just gonna let the graphic speak for itself. You can decide for yourself if his hard hit rate, barrel rate, avg EV and max EV indicates expecting an above average hitter.
